<DIV>Just went out raiding with my lvl 60 adept III air pet.  I was continually getting tells that my pet was breaking mezzes. I took off all buffs and was still breaking mezzes several at a time like he was aeing. Did the airpet also get an ae added it and is this set to stay or was I bugged somehow?  I don't use fire pet much, mostly I havent had the time to really parse it since I got it upgraded. But correct me if Im wrong he also aes and will break mezzes which lease rock pet that does no dps? any info you have would be greatly appreciated!</DIV>

I have seen the Air Pet use the Shock Attack AE (Lightning Blast)

Correct me if im wrong, but does this not limit our reliablity and contribution to a raid if we are limited to only using our rock pet since he is the only pet that will not break mezzes?

<P>this must be a bug, pets do have aoe spells but they should be encounter only, i.e they will not affect mezzed mobs or mobs outside the encounter. If they are casting PBAOE out of encounter spells it is bugged and needs to be reported.</P> <P>Remeber when the fish temporarily had PBAOE that would aggro mobs outside the encounter? This is the same thing , it should be fixed soon. I advise /bugging it every time it happens.</P>

<DIV>I did some basic testing on my Air pet and didn't see conclusive evidence for an AoE in the limited testing I did (the original thread is just a few threads down). I too have the Adept3 but not the level 60 pet. I spotted the following effects in scroll back and by watching what was landed on the mobs:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> <DIV><STRONG>Aery Whip</STRONG> - DoT effect hitting for 60-65 each tick. 6 ticks at 3 or 4 second delay.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><STRONG>Thunderous Attack</STRONG> - 306 - 365 cold</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><STRONG>Wisp Blade</STRONG> - 563 - 649 cold</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><STRONG>Storm Surge</STRONG> - 387 - 448 cold. Also lands a maintained effect on the mob... not sure what the effect is. It has the same icon as the Aery Whip effect, but doesn't seem to be a DoT.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><STRONG>Fury Storm</STRONG> - 268 - 378 cold. Looks like being a quadruple hit attack, each hit hitting for the amount given.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>None seemed to be specifically AoE. I was looking for any damage that happened to the target mob and other mobs in the group at the same time. I was also watching, as far as possible, the effects running on the mobs. I didn't spot an AoE, but was also planning to do more testing today. I'll let you know if I see anything.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>You might want to scroll back through your damage chat after a battle and take a look to see if the attacks your level 60 pet is using are named the same - and perhaps go up against an easy group and look for evidence of AoE damage. I'd be interested to hear about any results you get.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>X</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>P.S. Above values are with def stance to make a direct comparison to the tank pet testing I did.</DIV></DIV><p>Message Edited by XtremSummons on <span class=date_text>12-22-2005</span> <span class=time_text>04:13 AM</span>

<DIV>Just to add... since the pets got all new abilities in this last update, if there were AoE abilities added it is also possible that they weren't correctly added to the effects that don't break mezzes. Presumably, there's a flag on the object itself that needs to be set for the mez to recognise and ignore it. There's always a chance that the flag wasn't set for one of the new effects.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>X</DIV>

Pyrotechnic has always AE'd, and is supposed to. It is encounter locked, however, and as such should not break mez, unless your chanter is using group mez instead of single target. <div></div>

<P>Ok actually i think i was just getting incorrect information at the time of the raid as to what was breaking mezzes.. and after I dug more into my log file... Thank you for the suggestion... I believe I found the culprit. </P> <P> </P> <P>(1135219953)[Wed Dec 21 17:52:33 2005] <Shushaby's pyrotechnic>'s Heat Blast hits wiseman for 71 points of heat damage.<BR>(1135219953)[Wed Dec 21 17:52:33 2005] <Shushaby's pyrotechnic>'s Heat Blast hits prophet of truth for 63 points of heat damage.<BR>(1135219953)[Wed Dec 21 17:52:33 2005] Prophet of truth is no longer mesmerized.<BR>(1135219953)[Wed Dec 21 17:52:33 2005] Prophet of truth is no longer mesmerized.<BR>(1135219953)[Wed Dec 21 17:52:33 2005] <Shushaby's pyrotechnic> wakes prophet of truth.<BR>(1135219953)[Wed Dec 21 17:52:33 2005] <Shushaby's pyrotechnic>'s Heat Blast hits prophet of truth for 68 points of heat damage.<BR>(1135219953)[Wed Dec 21 17:52:33 2005] Prophet of truth is no longer mesmerized.<BR>(1135219953)[Wed Dec 21 17:52:33 2005] <Shushaby's pyrotechnic> wakes prophet of truth.<BR>(1135219953)[Wed Dec 21 17:52:33 2005] <Shushaby's pyrotechnic> tries to burn prophet of truth with Heat Blast, but prophet of truth resists.<BR>(1135219953)[Wed Dec 21 17:52:33 2005] <Shushaby's pyrotechnic>'s Heat Blast hits prophet of truth for 74 points of heat damage.<BR>(1135219953)[Wed Dec 21 17:52:33 2005] Prophet of truth is no longer mesmerized.<BR>(1135219953)[Wed Dec 21 17:52:33 2005] <Shushaby's pyrotechnic> wakes prophet of truth.</P> <P> </P> <P>Was the temporary pet always capable of Aeing? and its a relief to know that its not the airpet causing it.. i was starting to panic! lol and even if its aeing... it should only be broke by a outside encounter ae correct? ... so im wondering if the new ability they added to it like you said was just not listed and was breaking... like the aquarous hunter. </P>

By the way thank you guys so much for helping! To go out and test this is great.. i was finding no information anywhere and I really appreciate your time.   I love raiding but hate being the mezz breaker at the raid lol so was rather upset to think I was going to be stuck using my rock pet which would drop my dps to that of a cleric lol.   So basically the Pyrotechnics and 4 of our proc buff on pets are all borked.  Joy!

<P>Yup it certainly looks like they've borked the pyrotechnics AoE. <img src="/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></P> <P><BR>X</P>

<DIV>Hey there,</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Just did some testing since the patch with Pyrotechnics and Nimbus Aurora - the wizard mez. It's certainly not being broken by Pyrotechnic's heat blast now.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>X</DIV>

<P>this has probably been mentioned b4</P> <P>but i was raiding last night with guild, and find my pet was only doing piercing dmg</P> <P>the pet used to be able to do both slashing and peircing as well, now its really annoying when raid mobs immune to peircing.</P> <P>hope this is not intended </P> <P> </P>

The deal is that pets used to be summoned in two forms:  One pierce, one slash.  You could summon until you got the one you wanted.
