View Full Version : Tank pet (atleast confirmed for the 38 Avenger) has lost its AOE taunt!

<DIV>I really hope this is not intended, because the AOE taunt is the entire reason for using this pet. I justed tested it on 4 different encounters of multiple solo mobs. Sent pet in, waiting a long time, then used AOEs and it worked just like back in the day before they gave it the aoe taunt, i got swarmed while the pet had to agro them individually.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Really hope this gets noticed by the devs, because this completely messes up soloing for multiple mobs with the tank pet.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Kinda funny, the Fire pet is actually safer than the earth pet for solo at this time, since it can destroy the mobs while your aoe stifling/snareing.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Also, i have noticed that the air pet has droped below the fire pet on single target fights. I used to be able to send my pet in and one of the first things he'd do was cast the AoE tuant so I could start AoE nuking, the main reason to play a Conjur over a Necro. Now I have to wait awhile before I cast these spells. This has lead to me needing to bail on fights that I was easily winning before this patch. The funny thing is they said pet tuant was getting increased, and now it's less effective.</P> <P> </P> <P>Dragonsfire</P>

<P>Sorry, im pritty sure that atleast the master1 tellurian avenger does not currently have an aoe taunt. To test this, i rooted a mob ina two mob encounter, and let pet beat on the other for a very long time. His taunt went off (the visual), but it only taunted the mob HE was attacking, not his target's very close ally. the rooted mob was well within the taunts aoe range, closer then 10 meters. Tested this in the split paw arena on hard, so it would give pet a long time to beat on the mob...</P> <P>Master1 Tellurian Avenger only uses single target taunt.</P> <P>I have know idea about the other earth pets or necro tank pets though.</P>

The first three fights I was getting beat on as soon as I hit any AoE DD spells by the mobs that the pet was not on. After that I would wait till I saw the AoW taunt visual go off on all of the mobs. Once this visual went off I could cast my AoE nukes safely 50% of the time, but your right I was still getting agroo the other 50%. This did make the short time I played this morning very confusing. I said that taunt was messed-up in guild but no one seemed to back me up. </P> <P>If it's as messed-up as it might actually be I'm surprised others have not posted yet. Since I mostly solo this is a big problem. The reason I use the earth pet over the air pet is because I know my earth pet can keep grouped mobs off me. Can a dev please say if they are looking at this. It makes sense that since they were patching taunt fixs that they might actually have broken something.</P> <P> </P> <P>Dragonsfire</P>

Yes, the earth pet is 100% broken. The only reason I ever use the earth pet is when soloing specific encounters, which require AoE taunts and high hp/mitigation. The HPs have been decreased, the mitigation has been decreased, and there is no AoE taunt. Tested with Tellurian Myrmidon Adept III with Transient Haven Adept III -- I attacked the same encounters I was soloing easily before the patch, and got swarmed with aggro as soon as I hit an AoE.Fire pet - Obvious lower damage with Igneous Magi Master I.Air pet - Apparent higher DPS overall, with lower HP/mitigation. I don't think the HP on earth was changed, mine still has 12k + at 60 with adept 3Also, I thoght all pets had 0 Mitigation built in anyways. Only our buffs changed that.<div></div>

Sacrifice Master I on Myrmidon Adept III with Transient Haven Adept III - 12.6k pre-patch, 12.4k post-patch.

my earth pet at 32 as adept 3 doesn't AE taunt anymore either. I really hope they do an emergency fix on this or they just made us as useful solo as a Guardian. /cheer SoE <div></div>
