I'm going to post this here because no one seems to check archetype or class forums <img src="../../i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif" border="0" height="16" width="16"> I have a dilemma. I started a baby mage basically to mess around with. just want something with good soloability and fun, but not too very challenging So the question comes down to: Conjuror Illusionist Wizard I know you wouldn't be playing the class if you didn't like it, but how was early lvls for soloing? Good? bad? tough to learn? Now, I've already got a summoner in Freeport who will go necro.... how similar is conjuror to necro? Do you have to get adept lvl pets to do well? since this is going to be a rarely played alt, i'd really rather not dump a bunch of money into her. Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks!<div></div>

Well, while the other mage classes <EM>can</EM> solo fine, nothing beats a conjurer or necro imo. Whether or not it's too challenging I don't know. I was a mage in EQ1 so playing a pet class is what comes naturally for me, whereas playing a fighter in a tanking role for example is something I have to conciously think about when I'm doing it since I didn't play a tank at all in EQ1. <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>With a conjuror/necro you will be able to solo very effectively at all lvls. Conjuror's and Necros are similar in terms of power, but a necro is slightly better against single target whereas a conjuror is slightly better against groups of mobs. Necro spells are disease/poison based, conjurors have heat/cold/magic spells. In terms of learning the class the best thing to do is read all the spell descriptions so you know exactly what you are capable of, then just experiment to find out what works best. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Obviously the more adept spells and legendary gear you have the better, but if you do nothing else get your tank pet to adept III. He will be your staple pet when soloing, and since pets are our class defining ability it is extremely important to upgrade them - all of them if you can - to adept III.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I also highly recommend you check out <A href="http://eq2.eqsummoners.com" target=_blank><FONT color=#3399ff>The Summoner's Tower</FONT></A> for a weath of information on conjuror's and necros. It's the best EQ2 class website out there bar none!</DIV>

<P>Conjuror is the solo king of the mages without doubt. Even better than necro imho. If soloing is what you're after, go for it.</P> <P>X</P> <p>Message Edited by XtremSummons on <span class=date_text>12-06-2005</span> <span class=time_text>04:17 PM</span>

<DIV>Conj gets better and easier as they level.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Even up to lv 30 there is a very restrictive range of spells. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>It's nice to see that you get fish now in the 20's that would have helped me tremendously. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I feel that both my conj and my warlock didnt really come into their own until the 40's conj a bit before warlock.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>That aside conj has become a great class to play and is probably the best soloer around.</DIV>
