I think when I was that low I just did all of the armor quests.  I think they may start at level 20, and if so, it probably isn't worth spending money on new gear at 16 "if" you are going to do the aq's. <div></div>

<DIV>Since the Combat Update I work so that my intelligence is number one priority above everything else in choice of equipment. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>The tank pet works so well now as a tank, even against groups of mobs. I get more out of maxed intelligence than I would from extra mitigation. The number of times when I've died but would have been saved by more mitigation or by other stats is really very low indeed. But the advantages of intelligence show through all the time.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>In groups my extra intelligence adds well to my performance and the other stats are relatively useless.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>In theory, for raids you're supposed to max wisdom I think to increase your resistance to AoEs etc... so perhaps there's a weakness there. But I see others with much higher wisdom than me go down to the same attacks mostly - so I'm not convinced of that. And anyway I'm not too big on raids, so it's not such a big thing.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>At the moment, I'm still under my cap (7 int per level) self-buffed. With potions or buffs from others in groups I can get above my cap - but I'd like to be able to reach my cap self-buffed and without expensive potions. Once I'm there, then I may start looking for other stats to improve other areas.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>When the combat update came out, I went to the broker and bought a bunch of equipment that was cheap but buffed intelligence. I was wearing a fair few grey pieces just because they buffed intelligence well. I've never had any problems.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>One thing though - I can't say how well that translates to the lower levels. It works for me but it could well be that lower level conjurors might not suit this approach so well. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>X</DIV><p>Message Edited by XtremSummons on <span class=date_text>12-06-2005</span> <span class=time_text>02:04 PM</span>

<DIV>The lvls are going to go so fast anyway that I would do the Armor Quests -which is still some of the best non-legendary/fabled T3 gear that you can get- and then worry about aquiring really good gear for T4.  The staple gear for me every tier is 2 legendary imbued hex dolls (I tend to get 2 INT dolls, but you could mix it up) and a legendary imbued wand.  After that it's whatever I can afford.  On my mains I usually end up buying the cheapest treasured gear I can find then upgrading as I am able, while my alts really benefit from my tradeskillers and from my ability to afford rares for the lower tiers.  In terms of rares, fighters benefit most by upgrading their gear first, whereas casters benefit most by upgrading their spells first.  My mains may not have the best gear, but most spells are at adept III.  Conversly my alts have all legendary gear while only the monk has a few adept III's (still workin on it).</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>In terms of what to get...I alway go for INT first and frankly I don't really care about anything else.  If an item has good INT I'll take whatever other stats it has.</DIV>

<DIV>I see people running around with all this INT gear, talking smack because they have 320 INT and 4800 power.  Then you see them get owned by a slap and a nuke because their resists are 500, mitigation is 600 and all their other stats are 45.  It's laughable.  I have probably 260 INT and can outlive 99% of the INT hogs on the server.  But.. to each his own.</DIV>

<DIV>Thnx for the input, I know high int will help with damage and power.  Another question is during normal ops do you actually burn up all your power with that high of a int/power pool or could you stand to lose a few int for other stats?</DIV>

My problem however is that my avoidance is only 5,1% cause my defence is so damned low :smileysad:

I find it tough pulling aggro off him to be frank. Why do I need to be able to take hits?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I mostly solo Blue and White ^^^ Heroics for XP grind and have soloed 30% per hour in DoF. I can solo yellow ^^^ Heroics a couple of levels above me with 1 root/recast reliably and sometimes without needing to root/recast at all. I soloed the Prophet at level 52 amongst various other achievements.... There is no doubt that I kick butt without ever needing to stand up to hits.... and that's due in part to the extra damage I get from my intelligence and to not needing to manage power.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>On the very few occasions that I do pull aggro from my pet or more often, when my pet dies - stifles, stuns and stoneskin will keep me alive. WIth the tough content I go after, even if I had really good mitigation for a conjuror in v light armour, I'd be dead in a couple of hits. Essentially, when my pet dies or loses aggro, there's very very little hope that I'll survive getting hit on by mitigation. If a conjuror survives aggro it will be because of stifles, stuns, stoneskin or roots.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Of course, very very occasionally my stoneskin isn't up, my stuns and stifles aren't ready either - my root resists a couple of times - and I get hit such that extra mitigation might just have kept me alive long enough to get a stifle off. It happens mebbe once every hundred fights... and for that, I'm not going to rejig my equipment so that I'm weaker for the other 99...</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>When in groups, there's even less chance of my taking aggro. The tank does that. Also the group healers and defensive buffs from other players in the group have a markedly stronger influence on survival than my mitigation.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Honestly, a conjuror really doesn't need any of the other stats. Go for intelligence first - then where possible get decent mitigation and mebbe wisdom too.... but intelligence is the stat the really affects your performance.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>X</DIV><p>Message Edited by XtremSummons on <span class=date_text>12-07-2005</span> <span class=time_text>09:58 AM</span>

Suggestion for if defense is low.....start killing grey mobs....nuke group aoe like hell......get aggro on a few...they grey and your pet will get to them eventually. You will be maxed defense in no time. I usually don;t worry if a green or blue mob takes a few whacks at me.

I agree X.  One thing I never want to rely upon as a Conjurer is armor mitigation.  My pet is the tank, not me.  That said, I also don't rely solely on INT - I'd rather lose a point or two of INT on an item if the lower INT item had much better save bonuses and the like.  For instance, there is a +12 waist item you get from one of those SS quests, but it has very little in the way of other stats at all.  I have a +6 Int item in that slot instead that has a ton of other save and stat bonuses (<a href="http://eq2players.station.sony.com/en/item.vm?itemId=78825" target=_blank>Pristine Tailored Sandcloth Sash</a>).  Just my personal preference in that slot.  Debated for days, actually, and kept the +12 Int item on hand, but ultimately could not resist keeping the other stats as well and kept the +6 instead. <DIV>Hehe I went the other way in my debate. When the combat update came out, I went and bought that bunch of stuff with the best Int I could get in the slot for a decent price. I was T5 at the time and don't think I spent more than about 10 gold on anything. I kept hold of my old stuff with better mitigation and the likes, so that I could swap set-ups in case I needed to. At the time, I'd expected to want to swap it out when soloing.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>There were a couple of occasions when I swapped back to higher mitigation stuff because I'd died - just to see if I could perform better in those situations with lower int/higher mitigation. In almost all of those cases, the result was the same or even worse with lower int/higher mitigation.... so in the end I sold the mitigation pieces. Ever since, the only things I've gone after have been pieces with higher Int.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Most good Int pieces still have decent mitigation for your level though - and often have wisdom. There's only the odd one, where you'll have a slot with something very grey in it that has low mitigation. My other stats such as Str/Agi are all very low but I'd suspect that my mitigation, resists and avoidance are probably OK for my level. Like I said, it's not holding me back. <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>X</DIV>

LOL - ah well.  I'm still wondering if I made a mistake on that one...  That's why I remember it so well after a month or two.  Too bad the quest isn't repeatable and the item was a no trade one...sigh. J Wellington Wells <div></div>
