Somone was auctioning Blazing Presence on Trader channel for 6p and said auction over in 10 min. So I got some Guildies to help me with the Plat and offered a bid of 6.5p. Next thing I know, the Seller says " Sold for 7p" without even giving me a warning :smileymad: I really wanted that Master ! And then a Farmer KStealer stole my named mob twice - both times he dropped Metal :smileymad:

Message Edited by ClawHammr on 12-05-2005 09:23 PM

Combat auto-lock is your friend. Check under Group options, even while soloing. Be sure to cast a quick-cast spell to ensure the encounter is locked to you before anyone else can engage.

Heyhey, had such situations too in the last days ... problems is Wizzards e.g. (i know cause i have one too) have a 0.5 secs cast spell, "Lapse". I, as a Necro cannot beat that .... The only think that can be stolen from a not locked encounter is some exp cause you don't get 100% if you make less then 50% afaik

Unless bad guy pull first, then yes, good guy is screwed. (good guy camped the PH for hours to have the named spawn, etc.)

And about the XP, I think it falls in the same rules than loot. Whoever engage first gets the rewards. XP is not split in any way that I know, independently of who makes the most damage. I recently powerlevelled a friend's alternate by having him engage a yellow^^^ mob (to him) with a taunt, and then nuking it myself. He got 10% XP per kill (that was at his levels 13-19). So technically, I did 99%-100% of the damage.

(And yes, I am against the removal of permanent encounter-locking BTW, exactly for this very reason)

Yes the Farmer was a Wiz and he was using a very fast-cast spell- Impossible for me to get lock before him. He knew exactly when and where mobs spawn

This is not Rocket Science...... A Farmer with a faster cast can aggro and lock mob before you = you lose the mob and the loot. There is no way to stop this other than SOE either banning the Farmers or moving them to the Station Exchange servers.

Yours may have been KSed, but I haven't even found something when I do get them up. I wrestled Overseer away from bots for a couple hours, didn't get anything. Camped the Gatecaller for a couple hours, didn't get anything. Camped the Commander/Overloard for a while, didn't get anything. I guess I'm just unlucky :smileyhappy:

Might want to try soloing some of the instances like Vault of Dust and Sanctorium. They are soloable while still being a challenge, and they do drop nice loot occasionally. The best part is that you get all the loot and all the nameds to yourself.

yep,it doesn't always make sense to buy a master if you can get a3 for a spell rare and a few gold.I have most of my spells as adept 3 because conj master spells seem to be extremely rare.soe nights ago somebody auctioned frigid winds m1 for at least 15p.i checked the values and decided that about 300 extra dmg wouldn't be worth 15p or more.

Three named are up right at the beginning. A fourth pops once you kill the first three. A final fifth one pops once you kill the fourth one.

Vault is located on the second floor of clefts, if you sue eq2maps you will see it. Requires access quest to use elevator, all done on floor one.

Sanctorium is located in the northern SS area, between the southern entrance to PoF and the entrance to PoF camp site.

Roost is also located in Clefts 3rd floor

Hidden cahce is located in SS south of the entrance to clefts.

I mentioned those specific zones because the nameds are relatively easy to single out without a lot of clearing around them. Cache I haven't tried, but I know roost is far past my abilities. The nameds in there have aoe stuns and fear spells, as well as the boss having a knockback. Not quite something I'm prepared to deal with I did run into problems last night however in Sanct. One named that I usually blew threw just tore me apart last night, seemed like he was hitting a lot harder. Could be a silent change to the zone, not sure. I still enjoy trying to do the zone solo and encourage all of you to attempt it as well. VoD also has a named that I haven't been able to kill, again, hits [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn] hard. The masters that I've fished out of the zones are worth the repair costs though Fink Dominion of Toxxulia
