I want to have this spell but dont want to use a rare if the Adept 1 works the same. Anyone seen this in game yet? How exactly does Call of Hero work ? I know you need soft glow pearl but what about recast timer? Does it give you a window to select group member that you want to Call? Sounds like a cool spell that would come in useful at times

Message Edited by ClawHammr on 11-27-2005 02:19 AM

Check the Conjuror FAQ. I myself got Call of the Hero from an Adept I scroll. It works by targeting a group or raid member and casting the spell. It cannot be used in combat. Recast is 8 minutes.

So how exactly does it work? If we are grouped somewhere and someone new joins group, I can cast Call of Hero w/soft glowing pearl and instantly bring that person to our location from anywhere in Norrath? What kind of restrictions apply? Thanks for info- Im really interested in this spell and may end up using a rare if I cant find the Adept 1

Your group member must be in the same zone as you. You're level 54, get the spell and try it out!By the way, it will not show as Adept I on the broker. Considering upgrading it has no effect, all spell scrolls lack the Adept I or Adept III designator.

New group member joins, and you are very deep in a zone, CotH him to you. At 1.2g per cast, you use it carefully thou.

one thing u should be aware of tho- when u cast the spell the other person gets a confirmation box (previously stated) but if he DECLINES (don't ask me why but i had some fool decline on me) u still LOSE the pearl AND there is still the 8 minute recast. i wonder if this is working as intended? doesn't seem right imo

Useful: Mage, templar (just for the token) and melee type...invis up makes way to gong to naggy liar before the raid. When people come into zone....conj summons them after invite...they drop and form raid group. Only thing I don't like is the reuse timer. In EQ1, retimer was like 2 minutes. If a team of conjurors is sucking down the people, then it is really fast to get people staged for a raid.

This is exactly why the 8min timer was put in place.

In EQ1, there where whole zones where CotH was disabled, because it could be used to skip content. With the reintroduction in EQ2, I guess they wanted to find the right balance between beiing a helpful spell, and preventing the abuse of skipping content.

Up to now, it has been a very very invaluable spell to me, and I am often praised for it. I have just purchased my 2nd stack of Pearls yesteday. Calling a replacement group member deep in a dungeon, or pulling someone out of a tight spot (like my missed jump example) are the most often uses I make of it. Nothing game-breaking, but it very often prevented the group from having to Evac back to entrance and start over.

Someone made calculations of the time it would take to have a conjuror perma-camped by Naggy lair, versus using invisibility (before the speed decrease was removed), versus simply zerging down. Zerging down actually won by a large margin.

The only "content" it can be used to skip that I know of, is actually the Teleporter access in Lavastorm. But 1 person per 8 minutes... Again, nothing game-breaking. Half an hour and 6g to summon a group. Making the actual trip can be done in 15 minutes if someone knows the way, and can "flag" a whole raid at the same time if they all travel together.

MANY of the mobs you find along the way, especially mobs in the Temple of Solusek Ro, and the golems west of the drakota fields, see invis.

This can be used to your advantage when playing the "see how much you can f*ck up your guildie" competition. Cue plummeting wizzy / raucous conjurer laughter. I won that day :smileyvery-happy:

SO you will be cast free CoTH right next to the ledge in Sol A. Making all of us guildies drop into the flames and be burned up.

so far only a zone involving mirrors seem to limit Coth.

but it does come in hand when the semi-awake tank forget to go in the opening door

you have been waiting on for 10 mins. or someone uses up their bag full of invis sticks.

For clarification: COTH CAN be used in between mirrors in poets palace
