Our guild was raiding in The Gates yesterday, and we were getting ready for the pull on a named mob. I was in the main tank group, and there also happened to be a templar in the group, who threw Sanctuary on the group right before the pull. For those of you that don't know, Sanctuary is a lvl 55 Templar spell with the following description:A group augmentation that prevents the group from being affected by control spells for a short duration. Control spells include any type of stun, root, stifle, pacify, and fear. This spell has a 1% chance to break every time damage is received. My problem was that after sanctuary went up and the mob was pulled, my pet didn't seem to want to attack the monster. In fact, my pet didn't seem to be anywhere in sight. I turned to see that he was running willy-nilly around, despite my efforts to get him to attack. Note: This effect seemed to stop after Sanctuary dropped, a time lapse of 30 seconds. My theory is that, for some odd reason, Sanctuary is actually fearing the pet, since the pet seems to run in random directions around the group until the spell drops. Has anyone else noticed this and can confirm that the same thing happens with them? Perhaps it's something that I'm doing, but for the life of me, I can't imagine what would cause the pet to behave in such a way everytime Sanctuary is cast.
