View Full Version : Intel effects on Damage -- Any Real Numbers?
<DIV>Hello all:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Right now I am buying only very very cheap gear or whatever drops that I can use.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I am spending all my money on Adept 1's and Adept 3 spells.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I was wondering if this is a mistake... My Intel is about 160 now and I am lvl 44. I know this must be really low...so the question is how much differance does Intel make on damage.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I almost never run out of Power ... so increasing intel to increase my power pool is not a good reason for me.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Thanks in advance!</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Nolof EarthKin</DIV>

<DIV>You can see for yourself the impact of intelligence because the quoted damage ranges when you inspect your spells will change based on your intelligence. Try taking off all of your armour and jewellery and look at the damage range of one of your spells. Then put all your stuff back on and look at the damage range on the same spell - you'll see it's raised.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>At around your level, I went to the broker and did a search for items with Int on. Most of the stuff I bought was under 10g and just by focussing on intelligence I raised my damage noticeably.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I focus purely on intelligence with my daily equipment at the cost of all other stats. This works for me: When soloing, I get my pet to take the brunt of things and if the pet loses aggro then my mitigations etc aren't usually a big factor. When grouping I expect the tank to take aggro. My Stoneskin and other people's buffs and heals can help me out if I do pull aggro a little.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>It's only in some raids that it's helpful to have better wisdom and mitigation. The big AoEs in particular which you need to survive in order to be there can be a problem. I switch out some of my items for such raids in order to raise those stats at the cost of some intelligence... but I don't actually raid very much anyway, because it's not really my thing. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>X</DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

<DIV>Don't forget that as the system currently stands, when you level, your bonus damage cap raises by 7 points intelligence. What we see however, is that if we don't raise our current Intelligence those 7 points, we actually lose damage. So every level you have to raise int by 7 points just to maintain your current damage. They say a fix is on the way, when that is no one knows for sure. Until that time, just try to work on up'ing your intelligence as you can. Ad3 spells raise one spells damage, Intelligence raises all spells damage. Both are good to have, but no need to break your wallet trying to max intelligence out too early. Wait till your higher level then start focusing on maxing intelligence fully.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Ellestil 60 Conjuror Najena--Shadow Syndicate</DIV>

When you hit lvl 50, you can get a full set of common crafted jewelery pretty cheap. 6 nacre things, a sandcloth sash and 2 nacre orbs will give a total of 62 intelligence, and should be had for less than 1p (a lot less if you know someone able to make it <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />). If one of the nacre rings are imbued you can get another 15 int there.

<P>Got my sandcloth Robe (16 int) for 6g 95s ... also for my armor for legs, head and bracers with 16 int i payed less then 10g each piece. If you have splitpaw .. kill the areane champion for 10 int bracelets .. if you don't have already .. make the shard collections for necklace of flowing orbs <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></P> <P>Btw.: I think some of the nacre items are around level 46-48.</P>
