(I took a break and started to play WoW - got a 50 mage there)</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Now that I am back, was wondering how have things changed for us? Are we doing good dps now? Do our DPS pets actually do dps? Any info on the goods and bads for conjurors updates would be very much appreciated.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Thanks in advance!</DIV>

Read the Conjuror FAQ stickied in this forum, should help you get up to speed. Short answer: We are among the top long-term DPS in the game, and our Air/Fire pets are MASSIVE DPS now.The Combat Update with Live Update 13 dramatically changed the class for the better.

Eh?  I've been playing EQ2 since day 1 and I remember conjurors always doing awesome dps (most of all on groups of mobs) and just being a great class in general (why I created a conj alt)... I did take like a 6 month break from the game up until recently, but they were uber before I left EQ2, and uber when I got back, so did they just happen to suck when I was gone or something? I think they were probably a great class all along but you just like to complain... <div></div>

You forgot about DoT stacking issues, broken Fire and Air pets, underpowered Blazing Presence, insane aggro issues caused by swarm pets and pet buffs, underpowered AoE DoTs, issues with spell scaling, Wizards getting their first "combat revamp" months before Summoners...the list goes on as to what was wrong with the game and the Conjuror class pre-Live Update 13. Don't get me wrong, we were a powerful class, but there were far too many problems.Thankfully, the vast majority of issues have been resolved with Live Update 13, including (from the above list) :* DoT Stacking issues are now nonexistent* Fire and Air pets are no longer broken (though some would argue Fire is underpowered). Air pet is highly regarded as a blender set on purée, and given Blazing Presence + Master II Offense Stance, it's not unheard of for the pet to easily 1-round solo monsters.* Blazing Presence got changed from a marginal defensive buff to a miniature Conjuror-equivalent Ice Comet.* Aggro caused by swarm pets and pet buffs are now much more manageable. Our Pet Buffs no longer (seem to) generate hate every tick because of the HP regen, and swarm pet aggro is only generated when the pet itself dies or the spell expires, not for each hit the pet does.* Most of our AoE DoTs got huge upgrades: The Seism line got converted to a PBAE line that does rediculously high damage, and the Shattered Ground line had its damage boosted a little bit.* Spell Scaling makes much more logical sense. It's rare that a lower tier Master I is more useful than a higher tier Adept III.* Summoners are now properly balanced versus Wizards for damage potential. Wizards are the clear-cut burst damage masters, while Summoners are the clear-cut sustained damage masters.Besides, if there was nothing to complain about, then there wouldn't be any reason to ask for the class to be the best and most balanced class possible.

You can have my old one. It's not spill proof either, though <img src="/smilies/69934afc394145350659cd7add244ca9.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />
