<DIV>Much more difficult to decide these days.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>If you are going for a pet, the Air Pet has to be favourite I guess as the best all-rounder. Air pet is great for soloing easier mobs at speed for XP and also the better choice for normal grouping play.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>If you're a solo specialist and also enjoy duo or small group play, then the Earth pet is the better one to go for. Earth pet is still better for multi-mob encounters and hard hitters - but especially for duo or small group play the Tanking ability of the Earth pet is key.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>If you are a solo/small group specialist though, you should have chosen Defensive Stance for your MasterII, so you might consider Heatwave. One of the big benefits of upgrading spells is that you get reduced resists and landing your stun more reliably is a very good thing for the soloist.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>There's another option that's more off the wall and depends a bit on what you've already upgraded: Sell the rough ruby and upgrade 2 T4 spells instead: Vexation and Shattered Earth. Upgrading the Offensive Stance lasts until level 53 and would positively affect all three of your pets. Upgrading the Stifling DoT means more damage and less resists and so is great for both solo and team play. If you haven't upgraded either of them, then it's certainly an option worth considering. You'd probably get more overall effect on your performance... but because they're spells you've had a while you'd get a bit less lifetime from the upgrades.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>X</DIV><p>Message Edited by XtremSummons on <span class=date_text>10-14-2005</span> <span class=time_text>01:45 AM</span>

<P>If I had to pick one pet, I'd pick the air pet. Level 46 spell and you will use it until 60. Freakish DPS and yet can still be used while soloing. Once you get Blazing Presence at 50, this pet just shreds mobs.</P> <P>The earth pet is good for soloing. Slow and steady, best for when you take on a tough mob...however I find it extremely inefficient when I am solo grinding for XP. Note that you get a new earth at 52 so I think the ruby is better spent on a pet you will use a longer period of time.</P> <P>Fire pet is much improved from the past version of itself. Good AE damage. However, I still prefer using the Air pet in groups. DPS is pretty comparable (Air better on single targets, Fire probably better on the multi-mobs), but the Fire really dies so fast....Air can at least take a couple hits before folding.</P> <P>All this being said, I've heard the pets aren't really scaling up on spell upgrades...may be better served upgrading something else until this gets fixed.</P>

I'd say Air pet. Earth pet is great, but you get a better one at 52. The Fire pet is great if you play grouped only. I went the easy route and have all of my pets at Adept3. That way I can adjust to any situation easily. Add Master2 for offensive and defensive, and you're going to be a killing machine that can backup any group quite well, and be a mean soloin machine. <div></div>

depends on whether you're thinking short term or long term.... if short term i'd go with air pet as like they said, its the best all rounder. the other thing you have to think of is the long term.... between 40 and 50 you get an upgrade to all 3 pets, but out of the 3 only the fire pet DOESN'T get replaced as of yet. earth pet gets replaced at 52, and air at 60. so if it were me, i'd go with upgrading the fire pet. <div></div>
