Sup all,

I just wanted to see if people agree with me on this.

CoH - Why 8min recast time?
I agree with what you said about CoTH. Don't have a problem with Blazeing Presence as it is though.

I am okay with the way CoH is. I actually use it fairly often for the following reasons..

A) To summon a replacement in a grind group...I can now leave without feeling guilty for hurting the group. Love it. I used to avoid grouping sometimes because I usually head out for the night earlier than most people in my guild.

B) Bring in a straggler to a raid or group. Lower recast may be nice for this, but whatever.

c) Help people who get stuck in walls, etc

Anything else and you're looking at bypassing content, which this point can be argued endlessly by players, but in the end thats not what SOE wants.

I am annoyed that the spell description says it is raid castable but in reality it is group. I have /bugged this.

Message Edited by Blitzrain on 10-13-2005 10:40 AM

It is meant to help your group, not allow raids to skip content.

CoH text description: it is possible the description hasn't been corrected from the old version that summonned the whole group to you. Same for raid member, althou beiing able to CotH a raid member could be a huge blessing.

Blazing presence:Only scouts and fighters have spells that are castable while running. I have no clue why you would want that, and why this particular spell? (exeption of wand/dolls). I personnally have never encountered any situation where this particular spell should be castable on the run, nor any logical reason to. Weird request.

Invis: if wizards can sprint while invis, it is a bug most probably. Snare impairment was removed from the spell itself, but I doubt it should allow you to sprint without breaking.

I can see like when a group in raid needs to be summoned, we can right click on the leaders name of that group and click on something like "CoTH group" and of corse costing 6 components. But if anyone in raid needs to be CoTH it should be just target and summoned for single calls. The recast time on it is just way to long.

The recast time is there because the intent of the spell is to aid groups in staying together. To summon a replacement member and so forth. It's not to facilitate moving an entire raid to a target, bypassing content.

Wizards cant sprint while invis, but they can cast it while running. Definitely a bug.

COTH is an excellent spell, recast time around 8 mins is fine so as not to be abused by raids as it was not intended to be used in this way. Making it one of our 3 t6 "rare" spells is perfectly fair as all classes get 3 "uber" spells in t6 which may or may not drop, bottom line, uber spells like this are WORTH getting at adept 3 (generally speaking, you can argue that COTH specifically might not have a difference from ad1-3, personally I would prefer it if/when the ad1 DOES drop that its a 12-15 min recast compared to the lower recast of the ad3). Having it cost a reagent is not unfair in the slightest as it makes you think twice before porting someone 200 yards. Priests have to use reagents to boot ppl back to queynos. This is not new. Blazing prescence and invis - casting while running? I see no reason why these should be any different to normal spells, only hex dolls and the like can be cast while running as far as I can see. I suggest that wizzy invis is bugged. Who cares, this makes almost no difference.

The Adept I is dropping as of last patch. Saw it on the broker last night (at an Adept3 price). No difference whatsoever from the Adept3 from what I can see.

There is no difference in Call of the Hero (Adept I) and (Adept III). Upgrading a spell can't modify it's cast/recast/duration or (post revamp) power cost. It simply upgrades the effect. Some spells, such as CotH don't upgrade however, and this is what the dev (sorry, forget who said it) meant when they discusses removing the rank distinction from spells which don't actually upgrade so as to reduce confusion. Also, yes, there are TONS of people buying Softly Glowing Pearls for 1g XXs from a vendor and then sticking them on the broker for 2.5p+ trying to grief players into buying them thinking they're getting the T6 rare harvest pearl. Something should be done about this, either by changing the name of the reagent or some other solution. Unfortunately making them No Drop can't really work as that would prevent other players from carrying their own pearls to give us in exchange for our services.

If your stupid enough 2 buy a softly glowing pearl in place of a legendary T6 spell rare, you need uninstall EQ2 and cancel your subscription.

Yes, because everyone who plays the game never makes a mistake.... Is it something I would do? Probably not, at least not intentionally, but then again, not everyone is a Conjuror and knows that Softly Glowing Pearl is the reagent for Call of the Hero and may just notice it says Pearl and buy it.

Reagents are certainly not new as we had to have them in EQ1 just to summon a pet! I hated that fact and it really hurt low level mages. There is nothing wrong with using reagents for this spell, as it is just another form to prevent content from being skipped. At 52 (level to get the spell), 1.8gp is not a whole lot and is definatly worth some hastles you can skip.

please note..... there is no need to upgrade the CoH to Adept 3 I am a level 52 sage and I hate to say this as I will loose a viable spell write, but I just can't stomach the miss use of perfectly good rares. Last night I saw the CoH adept 1 on sale for 1.5plat, and the rare on our server is 2.5 (LD'L)..... I am personally offended that sonyeQ powers-that-be would decide to use non upgradable spells as a rare/adept1 only choice as this shows a great lack of forsight on their part. That being said, if I was to make one for a conjuror, I would be willfully taking advantage of my fellow casters. Please, if you care at all about the sages that work hard to keep us all in ad-pets 3's, please pet-ition this decision. On Guk, the few CotH Ad1 for sale when they started dropping have actually been higher than the cost of the rare itself.

I fully understand that economies on different servers vary drematically, but please remember that the adept 1's have only recently started dropping and as there aren't as many folk that are conjurors as folk that can vie for that drop, prices are likely to drop.
