View Full Version : Pet pictures
Hello all, I am in the process of deciding if i turn conjurer (and betray freeport) or stay in freeport and become a necro. As far as i get it (and there are quite a few posts about it) - necros are better at single target damage, conjourers at AoE - necros get a rez, feign death, some heals; conj. CoH, group buffs, pet buffs - freeport looks depressing, quenos quite nice <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> So far, it is quite even. One determining factor for me are the looks of the pets. At the necro forum is a FAQ with pictures of the various necro pets. <b>Are there any pictures for the different conjurer pets ?</b> (the summoner tower only has a text list). thanks in advance <div></div>

<DIV>i think nerco pets look better only cool looking for conjs is pet is fire pet but he still sucks so hes useless anyway im a 52conj and id say go nerco conjs not as great anymore </DIV>
<P>Conjuror pets underwent a great deal of appearance changes in Live Update #13, so most of the pictures out there are the older versions.</P> <P>Tellurian Pets...</P> <DIV>The Tellurian Soldier Apprentice 1 looks just like the Adept 1 of Tellurian Recruit (rock spider)<BR>Strangely enough, in my brief search, I failed to turn up an image of the purple monkey that is the adept 1 version of our level 38 Tellurian pet... But I'm sure you've seen at least one Conjuror with a purple monkey following him around.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><A href="http://eq2.eqsummoners.com/viewtopic.php?t=1259" target=_blank>http://eq2.eqsummoners.com/viewtopic.php?t=1259</A><BR> <DIV><A href="http://eq2.eqsummoners.com/viewtopic.php?t=670" target=_blank>http://eq2.eqsummoners.com/viewtopic.php?t=670</A></DIV>Tellurian Avenger (apprentice), Tellurian Soldier (adept)</DIV> <P><A href="http://eq2.eqsummoners.com/viewtopic.php?t=1986" target=_blank>http://eq2.eqsummoners.com/viewtopic.php?t=1986<BR></A>Tellurian Myrmidon (all qualities), Tellurian Avenger (master)</P> <P>Igneous Pets...</P> <P>The one image missing for the Igneous pets is the Igneous Adept (adept)/Igneous Magi (apprentice). It is a column of flame that looks much like the air elemental picture linked below, except of course it's fire-colored.</P> <P><A href="http://eq2.ogaming.com/gallery/OGaming-Beta-Screenshots/EQ2_000199" target=_blank>http://eq2.ogaming.com/gallery/OGaming-Beta-Screenshots/EQ2_000199</A><BR>Igneous Apprentice (apprentice)</P> <P><A href="http://eq2.eqsummoners.com/viewtopic.php?t=1421" target=_blank>http://eq2.eqsummoners.com/viewtopic.php?t=1421</A><BR>Igneous Apprentice (adept), Igneous Adept (apprentice)</P> <DIV><A href="http://eq2.eqsummoners.com/viewtopic.php?t=1402" target=_blank>http://eq2.eqsummoners.com/viewtopic.php?t=1402</A></DIV> <DIV><A href="http://www.eq2shades.com/index.php?module=photoshare&func=showimages&fid=3&template=slideshow&iid=31" target=_blank>http://www.eq2shades.com/index.php?module=photoshare&func=showimages&fid=3&template=slideshow&iid=31</A></DIV> <DIV>Igneous Magi (adept, in the second image, far left), Igneous Adept (master)</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><A href="http://www.eq2shades.com/index.php?module=photoshare&func=showimages&fid=3&template=slideshow&iid=31" target=_blank>http://www.eq2shades.com/index.php?module=photoshare&func=showimages&fid=3&template=slideshow&iid=31</A></DIV> <DIV>Igneous Magi (master, the mob named Glory)</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Aery Pets...</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><A href="http://www.eq2shades.com/index.php?module=photoshare&func=showimages&fid=3&template=slideshow&iid=31" target=_blank>http://www.eq2shades.com/index.php?module=photoshare&func=showimages&fid=3&template=slideshow&iid=31</A></DIV> <DIV>Aery Whatever (all versions, the column of air in the center left)</DIV>

What are you smoking, and can I have some? <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>First off, for pet appearance, the Necro tank pet is a zombie who's model never changes, it just grows bigger. Their scout pet is a featureless black humanoid-glob-shape that never changes. Every single mage pet except one is a horned skeleton with weak flames. The one thing necros have for pet appearance is the master-level pet that is actually a succubus.</DIV> <DIV>Conjurors, on the other hand, have a tank pet that goes (in order) Scarab, Spider, Mudman, Grapeape, Rockpile. Our mage pets go (in order) Flaming Dragon-Snake, Lava Lizard, Pillar of Flame, Demon/Gargoyle, and Six-armed Naked Chick on Fire (tm). Yes, our Aery pets all follow the same model, but for quality of pet models, I'd say Conjuror has it in the bag.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>And secondly, fire pet sucks? Have you actually tried using him in a group and at a decent level of quality? The fire pet puts out almost as much DPS as the air pet, and he does that amount to every mob in the encounter. Nuff said.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Lastly, Conjurors not as great anymore? OK, so the fact that I solo better than before and do more damage in a group than before must have no merit on this line of thinking... I'm thinking you're just not happy because soloing heroic mobs is no longer a viable method of leveling.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>All that aside, Necros and Conjurors are pretty even in terms of strength. Pick the one you want to play, and don't worry about mechanics and "who does the most damage." Either class is a very good pick, both in terms of soloability and group power.</DIV>

<DIV>/agree</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>The conj pets look 100x cooler than the necro. The flaming skelly is the only thing that comes even close to matching our pets when it comes to eye candy. The only bad thing about our class is the 'grapeape', I wish that the graphic for this would change. The fire pet at later levels is way worth it though, as it is the coolest looking pet in the game.</DIV>

Fortunately Grape Ape goes away when you get Tellurian Myrmidon at 52 ^^
Thanks a lot. I went conjuror. I am now level 23 and so far I am enjoying it - even the betrayer quest was (mostly) fun <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> Eagerly waiting for my new tank pet ... regards <div></div>
