<DIV>Is there a guide to working this character? I'm level 32 and just yawned when I saw my latest spell. This was a new pet. Is there any strategy to when I would use him. I think it is a fire elemental or something like that. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I have an Adept 1 Tellurian Soldier that is a great tank. I've had him since I was 24. I've already bought the adept lieutenant spell even though I can't use it until I'm 38 (it was going for 3 g and I thought that was a bargain). Is there nothing to the class excpet Tellurian pets that are worth anything. I sometimes get powe from my vet when I'm doing trade skills but never otherwise. And I'd never zap myself for power or zap my power for health, so that eliminates that silly spell in my estimation. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>It would be so nice to find out that there are certain situations in which I should choose the new pet over the soldier, but I havn't the slightest idea of when<img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Please, guide me to a good guide. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Meanwhile, how much diff between the Adept 1 soldier and the Adept 3? I see that spell for 66g (which I don't have since I just bought a horse). Is it worth getting the Adpet 3 for 6 more levels? </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Things I wish: </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <UL> <LI>I'd like to know my pet's stats. </LI> <LI>I'd like to see my pet's hits in a diff color than everyone else. Same as mine would be ok. </LI> <LI>Transportation spells<img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> I'm so tired of going from Castleview to Antonica to Steppes to Nek to EL. </LI></UL> <P> </P> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

<DIV>Im just about heading to bed so Ill chime in a few words here...</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>The adept 3's are WELL beyond worth it. No conjuror should be without at least adept 3, or their trait (adept 2) pets which I hear are good as well. I'm stunned that anyone would buy a horse??? before upgrading their most important spell, which also happens to be the absolute backbone of the class. As of right now (Im 2<img src="/smilies/b2eb59423fbf5fa39342041237025880.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />, both my tank pets (adept 3) have always outdamaged my adept 1 lvl 20 igneous pet.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>As for your transportation type spell, well a while ago they put in the boatride so that you can go straight from your home city to EL, Zek, EF, etc.</DIV>

Sorry you are so surprised about the horse, but the horse is fun. I play the game for fun<img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> </P> <P>I can't believe I've missed those boat rides from home city. Where? I'll have to go into the game now and check all the bells on the dock. Have the activated the middle one? I vaguely remember a dead bell there. OMG and I've been doing all this unnecessary traipsing. Hope the change isn't for people with new add on only. Good enough reason to buy it, I guess. <BR></P>

the bell to EL, EF, ZEK etc is in Queynos harbour, use the bell in your home village to zone there, then go see harbourmaster crestbreak (not 100% sure on name) , he is in the corner towards the tavern that sells the lvl 50 food/drink. A ticket to one of the above locations will cost 60s - 1.2g depending on destination. I assure you that this is more than worth the treck through ant and TS....... happy hunting <div></div>

ok here's the info on your pets, at least how they're SUPPOSED to work (should work like this after the combat revamp). Tellurian line (tank pet) - your highest health/defense pet, one you'd use for those fights where you want your pet to keep aggro and take alot of dmg. Aeiry Outrider line (air pet, also the one you should have gotten at 32) - its more of a scout type pet with medium dps and health. use it for soloing when you want your pet to survive, but not need to take all the hits for an extended period of time, will also do decent dps. Igneous line (fire pets) - your all out dps mage pet, use in groups where your tank can hold aggro and in zone where you wouldn't get many adds and have to off tank, in some groups i use my tank or air pet in groups simply if we get an add i can tank it for awhile til we kill the first mob, saves the group. so all in all just take into consideration the zone and the type of group you have for which pet to use. <div></div>

<P>All of the pets except the tellurian line are broken at this point. Air, fire and water have significantly less dps and on top of that have less hp's. There is really no reason to use them, let alone spend money upgrading them.</P> <P>You should save every copper you can to upgrade your tellurian pets to adept 3. No question about it. In my opinion you would be better off running around naked with an adept 3 tellurian than in full fabled gear with an adept 1.</P> <P>As for a guide, you can get all of your conjuror needs at the Tower: <A href="http://eq2.eqsummoners.com/" target=_blank>http://eq2.eqsummoners.com/</A></P> <P>EDIT: I think the recent change to pets has temporarily made them all the same quality. Meaning, an adept 1 is as good as a master until the combat change. I have not tested this, but that is what was said in the patch notes so you may not have to spend your money just yet.</P><p>Message Edited by Mordith on <span class=date_text>07-08-2005</span> <span class=time_text>11:50 AM</span>

aye the pets are broken atm.. but i still see good reason to keep your other pets as upgraded as your tank pets.. if you dont' when the revamp happens (and MG says its gonna happen soon) you'll be behind in dps. <div></div>

I am still waiting for my fire pet from EQ1 to be fixed. How many years has it been?

<div></div><div></div><div></div>Of course, before I read this post I went and made an Igneous Apprentice Adept III.... sigh.... Ah, well. He looks really cool, though.<p><a href="http://eq2players.station.sony.com/en/pplayer_gallery.vm?characterId=233078208" target=_blank>Check out "Iggy" <span class="time_text"></span></a></p><p>Message Edited by Raybourne on <span class=date_text>07-09-2005</span> <span class=time_text>08:53 AM</span>

you don't have to get ALL your pets upgraded as you get them.. if you think you're going to outlvl a pet before the revamp comes out then just get the high end ones. i say get'em now while you can before the revamp comes out and you go oh [expletive ninja'd by Faarbot] i need that (checks broker for the million adepts/rares that were there before), oh wait too late, everyone else bought them up before you could. now ya gotta wait for another to drop and hope you can get to it before anyone else. <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> <div></div>

<DIV>I agree. Get your fire and air pets while they're still cheap/available while you still can! Make a shopping list before revamp so that you're ready for ultimate DPS!!!!!!!</DIV>
