The spider is just the adept 1 or higher version of your bug. Don't worry about upgrading this since you are lvl 18 and about to get your newer pets. For equipment I would recommend to try and push out to lvl 20 and then go for the armor quests. No armor beats that armor except maybe the chest/legs rare imbued armor, and the Dwarven work boots if you get that heritage done early enough. For jewerly I would just buy the highest INT modified jewerly you can find that suits your level. For every 4 INT you have you get around 10-15 power depending on your level. Hex dolls are a great way to add addition INT to your stats. Hope this helps you. ~Medillia LVL 36 Conjuror, LVL 33 Alchemist

First purchase: the best pet you can afford.

2nd one: best pet buff you can afford.

This is your lifeline. Get it Adept3 if you can. The Tell Soldier Ad3 (lv24) is a beast and worth every cooper spent. The rest can come as you get it.

After that, upgrade your DoTs and FireSeed line.

one spell that you should definitely upgrade, master if you can find and afford it, is essense [expletive ninja'd by Faarbot]t. it's the only spell of it's kind of that you get. it's saved me countless times, and i only have it adept one right now. and please, i've found that upgrading fire and air pets are not worth it. at least not as of yet. i'm lvl 36 conjuror and have yet to get a decent air or fire pet. they tend to die far too fast and i rarely ever use them. someone told me that the dps on them is not worth anything compared to the tellurian pet line, so just upgrade those pets only. however, i do know that the higher fire pets do stop showing the weak symbol, so maybe those are worth using, so keep that in mind. but as of yet, all my fire pets are weaker by far than my poor tellurian pets. definitely upgrade all your pet heals as well, and your invisibility. hope this helps you out. i only have one adept three by the way, it's my latest tellurian pet. so don't worry about adept three spells unless you can afford them and/or you have the rares. pet and pet heal spells are the ones you should upgrade adept three first. then pet buffs, then fire seed line, then self buffs... at least that's how i would do it if i had the ability. oh, you will be getting the option to upgrade pet to adept 2 version when you reach lvl 20. unless you have apprentice pet, DON'T get it... it's not worth it, especially if you have adept one or three pet already. just get the augmentation instead. alot of people don't get that, so it stacks with any other conjuror that you might group with, if they chose the pet upgrade, which most people do choose.

I’ll echo what the last two people said.

Try to grab the Adept I version of your current pet and use it until level 24. The last level is the toughest because it turns blue at 23.

Get the upgrade to Dust Blast as your level 20 choice. You will use that DD long after you would stop using the level 20 pet. Most everything else is DOT or AE.

Start making money and saving money. Your first goal should be to get the Adept III version of the level 24 pet. Also set your goal on Adept I or better pet buffs.

Next upgrade invisibility to Adept I.

After that balance between damage spell and buff upgrades. Your buffs are handy in a group, but so is your damage. Don’t underestimate the usefulness of the group buff that also increases pet hate, and the group damage shield buff.

But more than anything else, get that Adept III level 24 pet, if possible.

Tinkerbe

Hi,

I would like to present it a different way. Go to the broker and price the Tellurian Soldier Adept III and compare to your savings. If you believe that you won't have that kind of money when you hit 24, then seriously consider picking Pandrous' Hero pet at lvl 20 as you training spell (free). It is an Adept II and in the 20's some feel it fights better than the Soldier Adept III. The Hero will lvl with you to 32.

The main advantages of choosing the Hero: 1) It's free, 2) Because it is free you can spend money upgrading Provocation to Adept III, or Essense Shift (earlier spell), etc.

The main disadvantages to the Hero: 1) It stops lvl'ing at 32 (you get at 20 though instead of 24) and the Adept III Soldier stops lvl'ing at 37. At lvl 38 you get Tellurian Veteran. 2) Since the soldier lvl's to 37, you get a longer life from it.

Now, it comes down to a couple of considerations: 1) Do you want a good strong earth pet from 20-32, or 24-37? 2) Your selection on Hero vs. Soldier has implications for your lvl 30 training choice. The two main choices at 30 are Varski (like Provocation at Adept II) or Igneous Savant (fire pet Adept II, but no down arrow like other pets). If you go Hero and upgrade Provocation to Adept III, you will more than likely want the fire pet. If you go the Soldier route, then you should pick Varski if you haven't upgraded Provocation. If you go fire pet, this is not a tank, so you will need to group for those levels between 33-37. (I chose the Hero/Savant route and I grouped through those levels rather quickly). The fire pet is rather useful and good in groups and in the not too distant future, fire pets are getting a major boost in damage. Fire pets will become coveted.

So I recommend either of these:

1) Hero (20), Savant (30), and upgrade Provocation (not required, but helpful)

2) Whipping Wind (20), Dust Blast replacement and last DD spell you can get, upgrade Soldier, Varski (30)

Option 2 allows better solo'ing and a spell that you'll use a long time.

I used my free respec a while back and got rid of the Hero in favor of the Whipping Wind training spell. It is still useful all the way to 50.

Cierkzo

Lavastorm

Conjuror Lvl 48
