Usefullness of pets

<DIV>I understand the purpose of the golem, spider, and flame snake. Golem is well suited to be an active tank as the spider is good for just tanking, and the flame snake is for group encounters, but has anyone determined the strategy of the aery outrider? I have him as an adept 3 and he doesn't do a lot of damage and he is really weak on defense. I am a level 32 conjuror on the lavastorm server. He looks cool, but i wish i had a better use for him.</DIV>

<P>I have tried all the pets at one time or another, both in groups and solo, and the Tellurian series are the only way to go. Fire, Air pets die so fast and do so little damage, that i basically gave up on them.</P> <P>Darkbolt, Level 50 Conjurer</P>
