if you have the adept 4 you can keep it and at 20 take the upgrade to dust blast which will be your highest DD ever.  Or you could scribe the adept one and at 20 get the hero that will last you until 29.  Either way if you decide to scribe the adept 4 it should last you until 24 where you get the new pet anyways. <div></div>

<P>ADEPT 4?!?!!?!?!?!??!!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?</P> <P>When did they introduce Adept 4's into the game and where do I get my hands on one? I was under the assumption that Adept 3 was the highest then Master 1.</P>

<P>You must be referring to the Igneous Adept (the lvl 20 pet), I assume you mean that you have an Apprentice IV scroll of that.</P> <P>I would go with the Tellurian Hero training pet at 20 unless you have managed to get a Tellurian Soldier Adept 3 scroll, which while it is not stronger (they are prettymuch the same) it will definately last longer and it's a good idea to learn how to use it now instead of later.</P> <P>If you get a respec then definately take the Dust Blast upgrade later on when you have a better pet or if you do have the Soldier Adept 3 ready to go.</P>

another question about pet upgrades and such everyone says the dust blast upgrade is good but i'm not sure i can get that because my tellurian recruit is only at app 2 so i will prolly need the pet to progress. this is my question should i take the dust blast upgrade or the pet upgrade?

<P>At 20, I took the Dust Blast upgrade thinking of the future.  I had TR Adept I at the time.  I'm not sure about your server, but I see it for about 1g 50s all the time on mine now, so you may be able to upgrade to that, especially if you harvest a rare (they drop all the time now - I picked up 4 in 2 hours after the patch) and sell it.</P> <P>I grouped my way to the Soldier, so the Hero pet wasn't really a necessity for me.  If you solo, then you may want the Hero. When I got the Soldier I immediately updated it to App IV, then picked up Adept 1 off a named gnoll in TS (yay me).  With the Soldier Adept I and Provocation App IV, my pet tank decently and sometimes even pull aggro from lower level tanks!</P> <P>Also, when grouping, I find that a lot of mobs die very quickly with a full group - too quick to justify casting a DoT - so I use my nuke a lot more than I thought I would just to make sure I get some damage in.  It's not worth casting a 5 second DoT and getting just 1 or 2 ticks or damage from it when I can do more damage with Dust Blast for less power...</P> <P>Anyway, just my 2c.</P>
