Today while soloing in Rivervale my pet on 6 different occasions picked up aggro from nearby mobs while attacking... please dont tell me this is true... if its gonna pick up aggro then they need to give us better control of it... this is rediculous... anyone else confirm this? And I was not using any aoe's just the pet doing his job...

<DIV>I was killing some solo Centaurs in TS a couple days ago, and while my pet was fighting one, another walked by and added on it.  </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I believe that if the pet is just walking around it will not get agro, but if it is fighting a agro social mob, it can pick up more.  Just how i figgured it was happening.  It didn't pick up agro on any agro mobs when it wasn't fighting.</DIV>

Mobs have done this to my pet since L10. Fighting any type of Orc in commonlands would result in the same thing happening if another walked close enough by while fighting. So, this has been in game a while.

interesting at lvl 33 this is the first time my pet has picked up an add fighting. If it has always been this way its new to me... maybe i have been lucky up to now or something. Very interesting.

<DIV>I was fighting out at the solo cents the other night and had no problems like this.  What pet are you using?  Maybe it is either PBAE'ing or doing an AE taunt?  I was fighting with adept 3 Tell Soldier.</DIV>

It's the same thing as with anyone fighting a mob - there's a chance that nearby mobs will social into your fight if they come across it.

<DIV>I've noticed a few differences as well...</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>1.) Using the same tactics I have used before, I'm getting adds that wouldn't add before. I've noticed it on Cents, undead, and gnolls in TS primarily. I do a fair amount of soloing at the south bandit camp, and have been for some time now. My normal tactic was to pull with lightning burst (smallest aggro spell I have), let the mob hit me, and then the pet jumps it. (This tactic, BTW, will prevent the "pet dance" almost every time.) While fighting, I use the left-mouselook to scan around and look for possible adds. If I see a cent getting close, I move myself up the side of the hill, out of aggro range.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Until this weekend, no cent had added on to my pet. This weekend, I started getting adds from the pet being in combat. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>2.) My pet has also picked up some non-aggro mobs recently, as well. Soloing in non-aggro crabs in TS with Tellurian Hero or app4 Tellurian Soldier, I would target one, sic pet, and get 2 in combat. This happened maybe 1 time in 5 or 6 pulls, but shouldn't have happened at all. Granted, these crabs (large shore crabs) are blue and green to me now, so I could handle it, but it's a bit disturbing. I'm thinking it's possible they've added an AoE effect to the pets that wasn't there before. If that's the case, it needs to be removed.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>3.) Grouped with some RL friends, pulling melee-only grouped mobs (no casters, just scouts and fighters, grey mobs for a quest), the tank would pull, and the pet would immediately race to ward the mobs... no spells landed on us, I had no aggro whatsoever. Initially, the group was blaming me for siccing the pet too soon. Later on, I afked for about ten minutes while cooking dinner, and the group kept pulling... and my pet was <STRONG>still</STRONG> jumping the gun and attacking. I was never hit by anything and never got aggro, but my pet was in there fighting. Kind of handy for afk play... but I don't want that.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>4.) The most disturbing thing I've noticed, however, happened while I was invised with the pet on "follow" command, running through the dead river. I was on autorun, using mouselook to steer, and I had a candy bar in my left hand... so I wasn't pushing <STRONG>any</STRONG> keys on the keyboard. All of a sudden, the pet takes off to one side, attacks a skeleton, and I'm visible (still had 4 minutes on the timer, and no mobs in that area could see invis) with a dozen level 24^^ mobs heading for me. I went back for my shard, invisible, <STRONG>without</STRONG> the pet... the same mob that he was attacking was still there, and did not see invis.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Granted, all these things are not happening <STRONG>every </STRONG>time... but they are happening often enough to cause problems. I think this needs to be looked at, and I have /bug ged each of these issues in-game.</DIV>
