<DIV>Well I don't know about you guys but I was pretty happy with our situation before the patch.... Now we're even worst off.... no longer can we stack DOTs, that means only bludgeoning earth OR static pulse... (i had adept III so it was still useful)... and with our new skills i chose to have an extra stun... but little did I know that when I used the new said stun it would cancel out the usage of petrify..... making it a completly pointless choice.... i had a stun that worked perfectly well, now I have 2 stuns, and using one makes it like i just used both........ GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR</DIV><p>Message Edited by Spyder5933 on <span class=date_text>01-06-2005</span> <span class=time_text>11:07 AM</span>

I hear you, im currently dissapointed, but waiting to test my "significant" magic mitigation reduction of the new spell. We should have a 1 day trial period on these new abilities with the chance to change them in the first day as the definitions of what they do are SO LIMITED and VAGUE. Its kinda like you can choose this car thats fast, this one that pulls a lot of stuff, this one is agile, or this one that has big wheels. Its too vague to know what you are really getting when you have to choose such a hallmark type item, hello, once every 10 LEVELS. Give me a litte more specific descriptions when i choose such an important thing. Tell me this does not stack with petrify and resets that spell, or show me the spells icons so i can figure it out myself. No, just make a blind jump and hope you dont splat when you hit the bottom . . .

Thats what i thought at first but it looks like they've just put Bludgeoning earth and Static Pulse on the same timer they still stack.Instead of Static then Bludgeoning just go Static then Siesm whilst the timer counts down then Bludgeoning.

<DIV>They are just on the same timer, as was already stated. I always spaced mine out a few seconds apart anyways to help manage agro, so it really hasen't bothered me at all. The fact that lightning burst and dust blast also seem to be on the same recast timers if a bad thing for my little level 20 conjurer.</DIV>

Yeah but try the area effect ones that are on a longer times that is nasty. It really hurts to wait that long to recast some of the spells.

<DIV>Well not only are Dust balst and lighting burst on same timer so are SHards of Ice and Lightning storm. Essance shift and instant Vim and Petrify and Frozen by time. This really sucks because what is the sence of having Instant Vim that causes damage when you can use essance shift instead since they are on the same timer. THat basically takes away one spell from us. Also with rooting MOBs one of our root spells is now gone since petrify and frozen in time take so long to recharge. IT use to work great for getting aggro off you and back on your pet when you use those 2 spells back to back but now you can't. But all in all the patch was very good. I'm a little disappointed on some of my choices but hey that's okay.</DIV>

My guess is it's all part of the bug they'll be fixing Later friday or Saturday..For those not reading the rest of the boards , they linked new learnt abilities and some spells as they are supposed to replace the spells not be used as well as them...but made a mess of it and linked some that weren't supposed to be linked. We shall have to wait and see whats reversed.

<BR> <BLOCKQUOTE> <HR> <DIV>In addition to the issues I posted a little while ago, many players are reporting that spells and arts that were usable independently of one another before today are now using the same recast timer. I wanted to take a moment to clarify this situation.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>The Training options are intended to act as a higher-powered replacement for abilities you are already using. Training is not meant to give you an additional ability; rather, it is meant to act as a significant upgrade to an existing spell or combat art. Since these are free upgrades that are much more potent than the Apprentice I spells you ordinarily receive, they need to share a recast timer in order to maintain game balance.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>However, a number of other spells and arts that had been separate are now tied together as well. For instance, certain heal or damage-over-time spells that were independent of one another now prevent similar spells from being used. We are working at this very moment to reverse this change so that the affected spells and arts will work the same way they did before this update.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>To sum up: Training options are intended to replace existing abilities and thus will share the same timer. The recast timers of standard spells and arts that were affected by today's update will be reverted to function the way they have since launch.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Unfortunately, this change will require some additional testing, so we will probably not be able to apply it along with the fixes for the four key issues mentioned in my first post. We will push the spell linking change to the live servers just as soon as we can, but it will not happen until Friday or Saturday.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>We're sorry for the confusion this has caused, and I hope this post clarifies how the Training and recast timers are meant to work.</DIV> <P>===========================<BR>Moorgard<BR>EverQuest II Community Guy</P> <HR> </BLOCKQUOTE><BR> <BLOCKQUOTE> </BLOCKQUOTE>there you have it.  they're working on it.<BR>
