hi, does anyone feel they are unwanted in grps?I seem tof ind they'll pick a tank 4 lvls lower than me in preference. That's if I find a grp, we're considered inferior, as one guy told me, we need ppl who can do dmg....you tell me how many of them can triple DOT an enemy and have a pet nuking em and still cast nukes as well? What do we have to do to show em Conjurors are a valued class?

What do we need to show them? We need to show that we can be just as good as other dps classes. Right now thats just not the case. Scout classes destroy us in a DPS and total damage measurment so do Wizards and tanks in some situations.

<DIV>Anyone who thinks conjurors are an unwanted class change their minds imediatly after grouping with me. I can not tell you how many times I've saved the group from being wiped out. If the main tank goes down theres nothing to stop the mob from thrashing the rest of the group.... except my pet!!! Even with this backup we can lay down tons of damage. And my stun has countless times saved the tank and given the healer a few extra seconds to get the heal off. The only reason we're unwanted is because other people do not know our capabilities. Once people begin to see just how powerful we can be it will change.</DIV>

<DIV>/agree spyder5933</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I think the biggest problem we have are the conjurers out there that do nothing but chain nuke with dust blast, go oop then start to melee.  My conjurer group with one just like this the other night.  It was embrassing =/</DIV>

<DIV>Level 26 Conjuror here and very much wanted. We're not a perfect class but we're far from broken too, a couple of days ago I discovered and started using EQ companion which now has an EQ2 mode (get it from <A href="http://home.inreach.com/kai/EQCompanion/" target=_blank>http://home.inreach.com/kai/EQCompanion/</A>). Having read a lot of posts here I was expecting it to show I was outdamaged by all the other "DPS" classes (and most tanks too) but actually I discovered I can quite happily outdamage the rest of an equal level group most of the time if I want to. Sure if a Wizard really knows what they are doing they can beat me in total damage (on a single target anyway) but then I'm freezing, pertifying saving the healer from adds from my pet and reducing resistances so that the wizard can do more damage at the same time, same goes for rogues.</DIV> <DIV>I agree it's tough to get into a group with complete strangers, they want to see the big damage numbers float off when spells are cast rather than five plus seperate smaller ones (each with an associated debuff). But once I'm in a group I've never had a complaint about the results and now I have a nice big friends list of people who will gladly add me into their group because they know I'll do my bit.</DIV> <DIV>   Barney</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>(my tip if you're in a group with strangers is to pull off the impressive spells for the first few fights even if they are inefficient, nothing makes a team think their mage is doing somthing more than seeing the enemy incased in ice for half the fight even if you have to chain cast a group spell on a single target)</DIV>

<DIV>Bauglir,</DIV> <DIV>Word to the wise:</DIV> <DIV><STRONG>If you say gold smells like crap, tastes like crap, and IS crap often enough, idiots will start to believe you, and then no one wants gold....<img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></STRONG></DIV> <DIV>One reason how mages necros and wizards got into a bind in EQ1...even though they slaughtered everyone else for group or burst DPs *except* at the VERY end game or due to bugs/lack of upgrades (i.e. a 2:1 ratio sword is a mega upgrade over 1:1, but adding another 10 Int to a staff and making it 60/30 wasn't worth jack to a caster, or back in late Velious-era when casters were horribly broken)</DIV> <DIV>-So, while pointing out problems, you should also point out what is *good*, or everyone may think conjurors are garbage, not group them...see the problem? Self fulfilling prophecy is incredibly dangerous.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>There are valid concerns regarding bugs (this has been posted and detailed already), also, in how improving gear will help casters versus melee: I can see that being an issue again because a caster is ALL about spells, but if melee spells (abilities) progress at same rate AND get better weapons...</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>That said, currently, up to lvl 30, conjurors for sure do a snot load of damage. There are issues, these have been posted, <FONT color=#ff00ff><EM><U>but so has just about every other class too!</U></EM> </FONT>This game is really in extended beta, and they are still fixing and tweaking things. Another reaosn by way rushing to get to lvl 50 is a bad idea..because so much that's broken and unfun now, maybe fixed soon.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Numerous times my pet has saved the group, or been the tank...stuns and stiffles rock for reducing damage etc. While EQ2 alas lacks strategy, it does have a lot of fun <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>
