<div></div>Forgive my limited knowledge but after searching for and finding no info here or in Troubador forums, I was looking for some thoughts from you guys on the Troubador proc song and those situations where you need to be mezzing.A small group of us finished raincaller HQ last night but wiped first time trying to do the x2 vamp. This was because the proc song blew all my mezzes of the adds - at least I assumed that. I had seen this happen before in crypt and we figured out that if you turn off the proc song then mez's don't seem to break. It appears that the proc song will give a chance to proc damage (presumably direct EE damage, since it is breaking mez on mobs that are definately not getting hit).Would love to hear any of you vets talk about what you know of this and what work arounds are known. Fortunately the only troub i usually group with understands the problem and that i only mez when needed to (and he's in vent with me too a lot of the time) so he knows when to have it on and off. My fear is tho that grouping with other troubs that i could really [Removed for Content] them off by asking them to kill one of their best DPS songs in a given encounter or indeed a dungeon/raid where mez is pretty critical throughout. Would hate to be in a pick up DT raid and have everyone get [Removed for Content] at me because i wanted the troub proc song off for tarinax, or much worse look incompetent because none of the adds would be mezzed when the raid wipes. Thanks in advance...<p>Message Edited by schmee on <span class=date_text>01-08-2007</span> <span class=time_text>07:47 AM</span>

no procs (from gear or buffs) break mezz - the damage is technically done before the mezz is applied. well, unless its a DoT.

<P>I've never had an issue with troub procs.  From my experience they work just like any other proc in relation to mezz.  If you are just mezzing the adds you'll have no issues, but if you start trying to debuff them as well while they're mezzed and get a proc, then your mezz will get broken.</P> <P>A couple of other common things that will break mezz is a zerker using open wounds (auto attack hits all targets in front of them), or a swashy using hurricane (I think thats the spell but not sure).</P> <P> </P>

well when we were looking at this before in crypt (as opposed to last night which is why i remembered to ask), we experiemented and found that i would only cast mez, was not using any debuffs, and yet myself and others were breaking mez on mobs that were definately not getting hit/targetted.as soon as proc song was turned off the problem went away. will have to look at this more carefully and figure out what is going on.<div></div>

<DIV>there are 2 ways untargeted mezzes can be broken</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>certain SPECIFIC dumbfire pets and AE procs (like the fury's damage shield)</DIV> <DIV>some kind of AE DoT on the mobs before they were mezzed</DIV>

AE procs - that's what i thought, it has to be something like this. when this happens, we watch healers breaking the mez, me breaking the mez (when again i'm not debuffing or stunning or certainly not doing anything aoe).<div></div>

<P>mezzing with proc's works good as long as i don't have to debuff them or the proc is a dot.<BR>Sometimes i debuff the mobs coz helps to land mezz more perfect.</P>

While maintaining this song, the troubador is rooted and cannot make normal combat attacks.</i>could this be our offending element? thing is, i've been seeing heals break mez in this situation.<div></div>

yeah i dunno if it's the song i listed, but the only time i've ever seen this happen is when the troub answers yes to my question, "did you have your proc song on?" it's terribly consistent, will go into a epic fight where we have to mez, and all of sudden everything is breaking mezzes, mostly off of non-combat oriented casts, like heals or something bizarre, check with the troub and ayup... proc song is on. rez up and do it agin without proc song on, problem solved.<div></div>
