A few items have been introduced that are now able to stun epic mobs, such as the Raincaller and Stormhammer. Now I thought that when the devs nerfed the enchanter classes, they promised that WE would be the only ones to be able to stun Epic mobs. Although what we can do is fairly pathetic, the fact that they have introduced items like this really pisses me off. We had things taken away, and our ability to stun epics "given" and now we are back to being worse off than before, since these weapons are going to screw up the timing on casting out stuns in epic fights.....Anyone else upset about this?

Message Edited by Rominian on 12-26-2006 04:19 PM

So yeah, if you have them use them. Kinda silly you don't.Some fights go longer than 3 minutes. Thats a whole lotta time the mob is hindered by us.With 100%+ spell haste, I run outta stuff to cast, including hex dolls.

I also stun constantly, cycling them as they come up. But it does depend on what we're doing. I rarely stun in Labs, but do on some of the new EOF stuff, or ChelDrak (I have a very very specific spell cycle I use on Chel'Drak which includes stuns, stifles and dazes as they refresh). We've made a rule in my guild that no one is allowed to use the Raincaller (much to the chagrin of our crusaders when stuck in a ranged fight) because one time it actually DID affect my ability to stun at a crucial time, and caused a wipe. You may not mind it, but it is definately a hinderance to our abilities. I don't mind it on the god abilities, as those are triggered and can be controlled. Procs are not, and do mess with immunity timers.

Yeah it's annoying at best... althought they did say that Enchanters were going to be the only ones that could, so technically that bow shouldn't be because it's not Ench useable.Do I find this to be a problem? Nope...Should it still be fixed? Yeah, or SoE lied =p

Ranger here, I wouldn't mind if they removed the stun proc on epics, I like Rain Callers higher % of procing on raids (higher % = more chance of poisons, its own proc, any kind of group proc, ect, going off, which = more dps).I usually don't use Rain Caller on a mob I know that the chanter is going to try to do some control over... but that is very rare lately.

Message Edited by Kitsune86 on 12-31-2006 01:03 PM

It's EXTREMELY annoying. I hate when there's a stifle or stun immunity on a mob when I'm the only enchanter in raid and _KNOW_ that I wasn't the one stunning or stifling...I really hope they do remove the ability for the weapons to stun epics, as it really is just a liability when the time comes that we need that 5 seconds or so to gain control back.

It doesn't upset me that there are weapons in the game that are capable of stunning epics. It would upset me if it's messing up the immunity timers, which it sounds like it does from these posts.

I save up my stuns and dazes on memblur mobs to give the tanks a few extra seconds to regain control. I know I've saved healers with it, and I'd hate to think the one purposeful job I have in a raid is taken away. And yes, for my guild's raid setup, that and sub-par DPS are my only jobs. Dirge and assassin in the MT group provide more than enough hate for a raid including multiple troubadors. And dirges have better defensive buffs.

Yes, a lot of people are, I personally am as well myself. They said we are the only ones that shoudl be able to do this, so...make it so damnit!

This thread was going on about it, think it may have died out for now though
http://eqiiforums.station.sony.com/eq2/board/message?board.id=spells&message.id=20589
