Question about a soloing coercer

Again if you know what you are doing your dps will still be ok and because we can slow things down so much you don't need as much dps as fast as with other classes and as I said before in nearly every zone in the game there are good pets - some better than others but have yet to see a zone where you simply couldn't find a worthy pet (excluding epic zones where you'll be raiding and your role is therefore different than when soloing or grped)</font></p><p></p> <p>Your pet will kill you more often than mobs will.</p><p><font color="#ffff00">False, I'm 51 and take a pet nearly every time I'm grped (frequently) and have never had my pet kill me in when grped much less wipe the grp....simply doesn't happen if you know what you are doing. And never ever happens solo - I know at lower lvls before I had master charm there were a few times my pet killed me but usually because I made a bad pull that I wouldn't have been able to do anyway even if charm hadn't broken.</font></p><p></p> <p>Yes in some situations they can be great soloers and can root nuke better than most classes.</p><p><font color="#ffff00">Correction - coercers = best solo class in game imho.</font></p> <p>However for consistency and faster questing id go wizard or conj or necro.</p><p><font color="#ffff00">Coercers once they hit about lvl 35 are no slower than anybody else although that does depend on playstyle and how much you wanna mezz to slow things down, but yes if you want something more consistent than roll a conjy or a necro. As your pets change with each zone your tactics have to change somewhat too and this can be a little difficult to learn. Also coercers have to make use of all their abilities where as other classes don't. For example when I had my necro (deleted him because it was boring me) all I did was send pet in, lifetap, heal pet, lifetap some more and repeat until the mob was dead.</font></p> <p>Just choose what you think will be the most fun.</p><p><font color="#ffff00">/agree</font></p><div></div>

I have a 70 coercer and i can solo just about any named. Like said before, your pet is your damage most of the time, and some do better than others. But every zone pretty much has a pet that will work well. I would have to say wizzards would be up there on the soloing, cuz they are the same in every zone. But a coercer can beat them if in the right zone. If you have no pet, your pretty much stuck doing the Psychic Wail (stun and 1700 hit or so) then Mez which can take up to 10 or so minutes. But can take down some named in about 1.5 min in different zones.
