<DIV>examining the aa says it adds dispel of mental effects, which would be nice (charm "cure" in inner sanctum etc?)</DIV> <DIV>in reality its adding divine and magic (more?!) though, making it pretty useless <img src="/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>can we hope for a fix on that, or should i just respec? </DIV>

Charm is a hostile spell casted by you which turns the mob into a friendly target. This explains why priests can cure it with arcane because they can cure hostile spells on friendly targets, i.e. your charmed pet.As for NPCs charming players, the players turn to hostile targets with a hostile charm spell on him or her. You cannot cure him or her because he's no longer a friendly target, but rather a hostile target.I may be wrong though =p.<div></div>
You missed the point. With the enhance:dispel magic AA you are supposed to be able to clear mental effects from hostile mobs. That would presumably include casting it on a charmed tank to dispel the charm. Cure Arcane has nothing to do with it. Unfortunately, like so many AA's at the minute, it seems to be broken and does nothing that anyone can figure out. <div></div>

Charm is not beneficial, so using dispell magic to get rid of charm will not work either. Dispell is supposed to be used for things like buffs and dmg sheilds, to make them go away and make the mob easier.

<P>well apart from dispelling buffs from charmed players i havent seen this spell doing anything. not 100% sure whether charm is tagged beneficial or detrimental, but when i saw that its supposed to remove mental effects, i was pretty convinced that they finally gave this spell a reason to remain on hotbars.</P> <P>also, even if charm is detrmental on the player, shouldnt it be beneficial for the mob? so could at least cast it on the mob then, to remove the charm through that.</P> <P>ah well, i respecced for now, hoping for this to get fixed <img src="/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></P>

Dispel Magic won't be removing mental effects until after the fix is put on Test, which hasn't happened yet. Once it makes it to Live (or on Test, if you have a character there) we can see if it will remove charm.<div></div>

<P>I just got this AA to help out on DT raids as well as the upcoming raids in EoF... problem is, the spell reads "Dispells 78 levels of beneficial DIVINE", not mental, I think it's currently bugged, it's supposed to be Magic (base) and Mental (aa upgrade), not Divine. And yes this WILL cure charm off a tank.... if they freakin fix the thing. Have yet to test it on a raid, heading to DT tonight, so we see.</P> <P>Will keep yall posted.</P>

Well... pre-patch, testing in DT, it was removing all sorts of things... didn't get charm once... got a bunch of HP and Mit buffs though >.> oopsiesAnyone tested this after patch? - I don't really wana reste my AA again, but if it DOES cure charm, it would be rather useful.<div></div>
You should notice something about charm now. The person is still in your group when charmed, which means you can't Dispel it, but you can Cure it.

<blockquote><hr>Pinski wrote:You should notice something about charm now.
