View Full Version : Halls of Fate - Sothis help (2 Boxing)

I regularly two box poets and nest with my wizard and coercer and thought I would give halls of fate a try. Suprisingly I did pretty well and apart for some strange trouble with doom guard tammuz (1st named) it seemed to be pretty smooth sailing all the way down to Sothis. I can keep him nailed down with roots and mesmerises timed to take effect exactly after my wizard nuked but it's those adds I cant take. Is there any trick to it? Do they become active after a certain amount of his health has gone? I tried pulling Sothis way back into the other room to give me lots of time but the adds just appeared through the floor, any ideas? Thanks<div></div>

Thanks<div></div><hr></blockquote>hmm yer a coercer meaning CC right? and charm etc? ok i have two ideas! 1. use root / mezz / stuns tactics meaning mezz sothis when adds pop root them (root lasts longer then mezz) mezz and use group mezz as a single mezz and in between slowly burn sothis down! 2. Use charm and recharm tactics + some roots and mezzes meaning you use the adds against sothis ofc ya drop incitement and signet to open enaugh slots for the deagro hmm actually ya dont need that no keep them up since your duel boxing im thinkin soloing it (which i have done) anyways ya still charm the adds and make sothis eat them they move so slow ya should have plenty of time to get a mezz on sothis and a charm on the add then a few debuffs and proc thingies! I used the #2 way to do it but make sure ya have as much subj gear and ordination gear on ya to make sure ya wont get as many resists cause a resist on yer root / stun can be fatal i was almost naked (with 1 backup set) figuring out how best to solo him! Altough i must admit i havent killed the last mob solo forgot its name but its some droag and he resists like a mofo post - eof! so im otw to tashiana to get some of thsoe resists down and will betraying to thule fo the 25% less resists and 25% more damage buff! after i have that it should be a breeze! <div></div>

Which "other room" did you pull him back to? The couple of times I've soloed HoF, I had to pull him back all the way to the room with the sleeping mob. The adds will break somewhere around the top of the staircase leading down into the drakota pit, if I remember right. If you pull him back further than that, you don't have to worry about the adds at all; you <i>can</i> just keep Sothis mezzed until you kill all his adds, but it's easier when you can ignore them completely.

Dealing with those adds is very very easy there are a few tables in the room where sothis is located.There are vials on the tables which do some nice heat damage,just throw them at the mobs and they will die a few seconds later.No need to mezz them.<div></div>
