Using Grey Charm M1's

<DIV>I'm a lvl 24 coercer and I've been moaning for a while about not being able to find Coerce M1 on the broker (Splitpaw server).</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I checked the broker today (as I do on a daily basis) and Coerce, Beguile, Dominate and Domination weren't up as usual, however, a little something caught my eye. I looked closer and saw that Charm was available - yippee I thought! The level 10 spell up for 20gp so, as you can imagine, I immediately lept on it and now own the beauty.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I havent had time to play yet using this spell and I'm getting worried that it may have been a waste of money (although not a lot granted). I seem to remember that its fine to use Charm spells that Coercers have out levelled but I'm just looking for some reassurance.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Will I better off charming things with the master charm (lvl 10 spell) or the level 20 Coerce which is adept 1. <DIV>I'm at the same point in my levels and have had the same problems finding a master charm spell.  I believe the M1 of charm will work on mobs that are lower than lvl 24 pretty nicely.  After that it is going to be resisted a lot (according to the description).</DIV>

IIRC the level 1/10 charm has a max level cap of level 24 mobs, also the duriation isn't great, however normaly speaking any M1 ad3 tier 7 charm, only the duriation is something what cuts in deep, and the mez on break.

<DIV>The master of the lower lvl spell is much better than the adept of the higher lvl i tried this first hand however the changed the lvl 10 charm to only work on lvl 24 or below mobs awhile back forcing me to use adepts again oh well the master is sweet while you can still use it.</DIV>

<div></div>Steelhoof Mystics in Steppes are level 23-24 and make great pets in that level range. I agree they are rare and expensive on Splitpaw, but i bought my dominate for 25p 3 days ago so they show up from time to time. Luckily sometimes for less than the 40p its up for on qeynos broker now.<div></div>

<P>Ok well I'm now a master 1 convert...............</P> <P>I popped over to TS and Charmed a Steelhoof Mystic with my Charm M1 and then just stood back in amazement - was nuking for 300-350 every couple of secs and was healing itself for 230-250 every so often as well.</P> <P>Didnt try any heroics but was killing lvl 27 no arrow skele's near RV with little or no effort - Just messing about got me about half a level of xp in a very short while. Coercing has never been this fun.</P> <P>There were loads of things I wanted to charm (I was particularly interested in the lvl 28 Warlock Orbs that float around near the RV entrance) but as Charm M1 only goes upto lvl 24 I guess I'll just have to sit and wait for Coerce to come on the market /sigh.</P>

<P>Dominate isnt worth anything more than 10 plat.   Ive sold 2 of them for no more than 7 plat each.</P> <P> </P> <P>Domination should sell for about 25-40 plat.</P> <P> </P> <P> </P> <P>Anyone selling Dominate for 25-40 plat is just setting it on the broken for a while until they can use it or until someone gets really desperate.</P> <P> </P>

Dominate works just as well as Domination except for the lower duration and the higher chance of you getting your head squished when charm breaks. A Dominate'd pet puts out the same DPS as a Domination'd pet. If there were no Dominations available, [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn] right I'd spend a ton of coin on Dominate. Luckily, I got my Dominate for 1.5p and my Domination for 15p <img src="/smilies/283a16da79f3aa23fe1025c96295f04f.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />.<div></div>

It was not in any specific update notes but reading the text of my M1 Dominate (lvl 47):RESISTABILITY INCREASES FOR MOBS HIGHER THAN LEVEL 68.So it's bye bye only-difference-is-duration. If it appears in the main section now, then yes, it has been changed; if it's still under the post-break mez, though, then nothing is different (hence the lack of update notes). I assume you're talking about test, which I haven't checked recently, since on live it's the same as it's been for the last several months.
