View Full Version : Yet Another PvP Question

I play a coercer but not on PvP.... still relatively new to PvP and trying to figure the rules....My question is: if a coercer charms (for example) a guard at a tower and sets it on the opponents runs away, then breaks the charm will the mob then agro the rest of the opposing party? It was all over very quickly, but what seemed to happen was that a freep who was in PvP range for one member of our group loosed a tower guard on him and ran, then after our guy was dead the guard started in on our tank. I got away but the tank swears he made no kind of move to draw agro to himself. Was wondering if this was a way to take down players you couldn't ordinarily touch, tho other than general griefing I can't imagine what the point would be.BTW, this isn't a complaint or request for change, just seeking clarification for future encounters. Part of what I enjoy about PvP is the creative ways that players find to use the rules and the unpredictability. Mostly I'm curious... I find my coercer to be the most interesting and complex of all my chars. We run into so few of them on PvP that it's kind of a shock to realize you are up against one, and makes me wonder what it would be like.<div></div>

What he's doing is he's got something charmed and then likely roots you as he sends in the pet. Once the pet is there attacking you he breaks charm. The pet will agro the person closest to it, in that case your groupmate. <div></div>

But would this work with a tower guard, specifically at Gnollslayer, who is not normally agro to the group and would in fact defend us?<div></div>

I don't believe so, unless you did something like get a hit in on the guard right as he broke charm <div></div>
