<DIV>Yesterday I went into Hidden Vale(think that is what is called) near the little rat merchant in CL and sells the Earthwalking Potion. Anyway I went in there and charmed a wizard pet in there. They would open up with nuking the mob with a 100+ dmg spell, then I cast a debuff on the mob and everytime the mob would beeline for me even though I only casted a debuff. Is our pets aggro from damage that low that a simple debuff gains more aggro then a 100dmg spell?</DIV>

The issue is code based. Coercer pets are not pets in the same sence that necro/conj/illus pets are. And with this in mind it's important to note the Charm is constantly updated on the mob you are controling as a pet. Thus, targets will almost always go straight for the coercer as soon as you perform any action at all, sometimes without any action at all, because the charm is much like a buff that is constantly refreshed upon the pet.Think of it this way (as a comparison). You're a templar/inqui with a reactive heal on the pet.<div></div>

Is your charm master? Honestly even with adepts its pretty horrible but when you go into master its 100% better. I found most pets suck pretty bad untill I got to CT. You will find pets in your 40+++ levels have much better bite. I dont have aggro problems anymore for the mostpart. If my pets at lower levels where as effective as they are now I probably would have just soloed my way up. It does get better.

I usually cast the hate buff and dps buff on my pet, and keep the int/agi with the last conc slot. Aggro is not really an issue, if i want the pet to keep aggro (which happens very rarely, it's better to charm a mage pet and burn the mob as fast as possible with stun/root/daze/stifle to avoid getting it, than to let my pet takes hits), i send him, let him take a few hits, then full debuff, and usually when the mob turns to me he's almost dead.If you really want a tank pet, try to find a fighter one with taunt, that helps, but a big nuke is always better <span>:smileytongue:</span><div></div>

Well my coercer is only lvl 21 now so he probably doesn't have half the spells you guys talked about. But I would have thought a 100point damage spell by a wizard pet would give enough aggro to keep the mob off me. But it didn't, just a simple debuff on the mob would cause them to turn to me.

Stuns, stifles, dazes, power drains, and debuffs all general alot of agro. I'm much more likely to pull agro when I'm playing "defensively" than I am when I'm nuking and doting.

My coercer lived there for most of his teens and I've never experienced this. If the pet opens with a nuke, there's no way that you should be able to pull aggro with a debuff. Is it the same behavior if you use other spells? It might be the spell that's bugged. But the best pet in there is the Diabolist.</div>
