<DIV>HI all,</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>  Im Currently a raiding Brigand, and pondering some alts to maybe start raiding with. I have a 68 Coercer, and ive gone on some of the basic raids with him like Labs etc, and It is a needed and helpful class, but I cant help but feeling like other than my buffs that are pretty much done once theyre tossed on my groupmates im not doing much. Im useful, but I dont FEEL useful. Kinda like im running around with the raid watching people kill and hoping for some silk drops etc. Im hoping some of you fulltime coercers can offer some insight into something entertaining or worthwhile we can do on raids to keep it interesting and keep my attention. My Guild currently has 3 raiding brigands, and we just lost our only coercer, so I was thinking about possibly changing. Thanks for any and all Info!</DIV>

<DIV> <P><FONT face="Times New Roman" color=#ffff00 size=3>I’m a pretty heavy duty raiding coercer now, so I can understand what you are saying :smileysurprised:. There is some truth to the “mana-buff battery”, no denying that. However, there are a lot of raids where your mana manipulation, channeling, mem wipes (although I’m not great at that), and mezzing will make or break a raid. In a lot of ways, it’s kinda like healers. When they do a great job they often are taken for granted, but the fact of the matter is that we all would wipe if we didn’t make a good team. </FONT></P> <P><FONT face="Times New Roman" color=#ffff00 size=3></FONT> </P> <P><FONT face="Times New Roman" color=#ffff00 size=3>For what it’s worth, here’s some fun things I do. </FONT></P> <P><FONT face="Times New Roman" color=#ffff00 size=3></FONT> </P> <OL> <LI> <DIV><FONT face="Times New Roman" color=#ffff00 size=3>Set a “personal goal” for a DPS target. Yeah, I know they will [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn] and moan a bit, but you can do some insane dps with some pets in the raid.</FONT></DIV></LI> <LI> <DIV><FONT face="Times New Roman" color=#ffff00 size=3> </FONT><FONT face="Times New Roman" color=#ffff00 size=3>Cast Amensia all the time (ok don’t do this, but it would be funny).</FONT></DIV></LI></OL> <P><FONT face="Times New Roman" color=#ffff00 size=3> </FONT><FONT size=3><FONT color=#ffff00><FONT face="Times New Roman">I guess in the end it may be a personality thing for ya (no offense). I entertain myself by beating half our DPS on the parse, power feeding someone every 60 seconds, and keeping mobs stunned/dazed/stifled nearly continuously.<div></div>

<P>I started raiding with a wizard. Our guild was just starting to hunt the T7 zones and we were constantly running a parser. I found myself chasing the parser and noticed I wasn't having 'fun' on the raids. I switched to my coercer and built him up when the guild seriouslly needed a coercer. I found that I was having allot more fun and have never looked back.</P> <P>Here's what I do to have fun:</P> <P>Heroic Ops: I'm typically the only mage in group so hitting the HOs is huge. (we sometimes do side bets on who will fail the least!!)</P> <P>Power management. I am the master of my group's power. Constantly watching and managing who get's what.</P> <P>Pet charming. Yes, charming a pet on raids rocks!! Fear me Swashies and Wizards!! You'll rank below my pet on the Parser!!</P> <P>Amnesia; when the going gets rough, the Coercer saves the few remaining with a well timed mem-wipe!!</P> <P>Mezzing/Stunning. While not a big part of my fun, I have parked more than a few mobs and saved the MT from huge spikes by mezzing that extra mob.</P> <P>In the end, any toon you play should have the ability to be fun, why else would you want to play the game if it wasn't?</P> <P> </P>

<DIV>Depend on what coercer you gona be on raid</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>MT-group one is about as much burden as MT itself. Hate manipulation, Mana manipulation - thats what expected as a bare minimum. Charming on raid always fun - I yet to see any single class who can out dps raid buffed pet ... to bad only few zone offer this option....</DIV> <DIV>If you are not within MT group well you are kinda second-third sort DPS class - ya better then brawlers or bards but still falling behind rogues, predators, summoners and sorcs with right AA, right gear and M1/M2 spell set in optimum set up you should clock around 1100-1200DPS</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

<div></div>What's your optimum setup to achieve that DPS, Tanatus? My best so far is 960 DPS but that was on a multi mob encounter with Troubador using PoM. I wasn't buffed by any other class in the group, and was using the Mystical Orb spell proc earring and Grizzfazzle's wand for the spell proc. Without PoM I was averaging about 650-700 DPS, and without troubador I have about 500-550. My build is AGI 4-4-5-8-1, INT 4-4-4-8.What's the secret to consistent 1200 DPS?<div></div><p>Message Edited by Outerspace on <span class=date_text>10-18-2006</span> <span class=time_text>07:26 AM</span>

Procs, procs, and more procs. Get the Bone Clasped Girdle. Get the Breath of the Destroyer hat from Tarinax. Get the Bracelet of Thule from LoA. Get a Ring of Supremacy (or two) from Fitzpitzle. Get your Fitzpitzle's Misty Protector. Get the procing necklace from Gates of AA in T6. That's just off the top of my head, I'm sure there's tons more. Just picking the "right" AA setup won't get you huge DPS numbers.<div></div>

<P>As previous poster said - get a lot procing gear each piece will roughly add 50DPS if you dont have Perpentulity if you do .... double that. Troubadur (+7.5% to crits, spell proc +200-250DPS)+Inquisitor (spell haste)+SK (+1% to damage + Deathsomething always fogeting name)+Illusionist (dinamism). Always use +4% to crit portions. Make sure your brigands call for Despatch (once the call start casting Sonic thats your heaviest attack). Maintain all the time Breakdown+Torment. Get Robe of Meridian it add like 12% damage to your second best AE attack (Ego). Maintain Spell Scouge as soon as it refreshes it goes off on every combat art and every spell ... Auspex unfotunate goes off only on SUCCESSFULL melee attack. At the beging of fight get boost straight to Perpentuality V by casting Beholder Eye (or any group wide spell)</P> <P>Bare minimum you need to brake and keep mark 1000DPS - 2+ brigand on raid, Troubadur in group and at least 2-3 damage procing items</P>

Amnesia makes things fun... Cure arcane other people's charms during raid....love that one too. Not that I ever do either of those of course! <div></div>

<div></div><div></div>I like to AF the healer and go watch tv, that is fun, yeah it is annoying to have to come back every 10 minutes to refresh the mana buff, but I can deal with that, I am working on making a long pole so I can hit the key from across the room<span>:smileyvery-happy:</span> <div></div><p>Message Edited by dalessit on <span class="date_text">10-19-2006</span> <span class="time_text">07:14 AM</span></p><p>Message Edited by dalessit on <span class=date_text>10-19-2006</span> <span class=time_text>07:15 AM</span>
