I got my lvl 55 with my illusionnist after the release of DOF, then left the game for about one year, and when i came back i betrayed to coercer :smileyhappy:

I think it's best to betray around lvl 50, so you don't have to spend too much money buying all the spells, and you're still high enough to avoid guards easily in Qeynos.

I decided not to betray I have played an illusionist from November 2004 to date. Got fed up with things in April this year and finally enrolled a coercer. Oh, I thought about betraying, but had too much to loose. Today, I have a lvl 70 illusionist and a lvl 70 coercer - both almost fully mastered and in decent gear - and I love the flexibility that gives me. As a matter of fact, playing a coercer in raids and groups have given me a greater appreciation of my illusionist. In some raids I will play my coercer (if we have no other coercer online), but then on certain encounters swap to my illusionist because she does have certain abiilties that a coercer can't match - and vice versa.I still believe that for raiding coercers hold the upper hand, but sometimes, just sometimes, the illusionist is more fun to play - and actually also more useful

I switched my level 70 Illusionist to Coercer this weekend for raiding reasons.Still trying to learn the new spells and getting used to PvP as a coercer. Like it so far though.Definately tougher to solo as a coercer imo. I could solo as a Illusionist on autopilot. That's not the case as a coercer. Maybe it will get easier when I learn which mobs make the best pets and where to find them. The only time I have had pangs of regret/jealosy is when I was seeing the solar shower graphic last night when we were destroying trash.

I too was an Illusionist...

However in my guild we have possibly 2 of the best Illusionists in the game. Our 1 other Coercer never shows up as well, so I made a Coercer. Eventhough I changed over by default I am glad I did. I have 100% of my masters, with exception of Domination ( omb! ), and I dish out alot of dmg still, so im happy.

I still miss the power of the Illusionist, however I love the charming of the Coercer. I still think some spells dont work as intended, but hopefully we'll get there. Biggest adjustment has been getting used to Freeport! Was a Baubleshire resident for 2 years =P.

-Murdox

Ancient Vengeance

Najena

I was an Enchanter in Qeynos. I betrayed to become a Coercer when I dinged 20. It was shortly after LU13 and Coercer was horribly difficult to play. (Broken Charm, Spells missing from game) I remember wondering if it was all worth it. 50 levels/AA, full master, fabeled, 2 expansions, and some dev love thrown into the mix, I can finally say it was..
