Succeeding with adept3's

<DIV>Hi all, I have recently rolled a Coercer and she is now lvl 21. I'm having a lot of fun playing this class and I'm thinking its time to get a little bit more serious with this alt in terms of spell upgrades (most are very poor quality at the mo).</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I've read the FAQ (good work all involved) and the one thing that stands out is that it appears to be imperative to get the master 1 charm spell (in my case Coerce) at any cost. Thats not too much of a problem as I have a few highby toons with a few plat in the bank. The only problem is that there arent any Coerce master 1's for sale at the mo.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I can easily get my hands on the adept 3 version (highby sage alt) and I'm just wondering if this will be sufficient to be able to charm successfully. <DIV>An Adept 3 charm will certainly be much better than App 1 or Adept 1, so if you've got the coin I'd probably go ahead and get it.  However, the difference between Adept 3 and Master is night and day.  The master will do 2-3x as much damage as the Adept 3 version will do.  </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Personally, I upgraded to adept 3 and then looked daily for all version of master charm.  Even if you are only 21 now and came accross the level 33 version (the name evades me) I'd buy it.  Any version of charm can be used all the way to 70 with the two side effects being that the duration is reduced on a younger version of the spell and the warning effect gets resisted alot more.  Regardless, a master charm will be the best coin you ever spend on your coercer.</DIV>

<P>Beguile at level 33.   Also look for upper level charms.  Im level 34 and have Dominate sitting in the bank waiting for level 47.</P> <P> </P> <P>Beguile is extremely hard to find (At least on my server)</P> <P> </P>

Every time you upgrade a spell, the resists and durations get stronger and stronger...remember this for all of your spells.  Having master 1 charm is DEFINATELY a priority if you like using charm a lot.  Personally, I really didn't use charm that much when in xp groups, it's too fragile for low levels and the concentration is better used on dps (if applicable).  If you can get ahold of cheap masters for your level, go ahead, but don't go broke doing it--they'll still be getting replaced, mind you.  When you get to tier7, go for your masters in order of mez,buffs, stuns/stifles, charm, dps.  Knowing my mez will land every time is much more important to me than knowing I have master charm ready to do damage with the right pet.  That being said also look for +subjugation gear (I partially took the wis AA line for +subj. too) so you don't get resists vs yellow/orange mobs.  <div></div>

When I find dominate M1, I'll start using that instead. <BR>And I were using coerce m1 until 40, when I found my beguile. So that spell line is one of those thats just worth using old outdated ones in favor of the new adepts 3s. Imho.<BR>And yep, the masters are few and far between, so until you see your first one on the broke,r just go with your ad3s.
