<DIV>I think this spell might actually be usefull (and non-fluff, as it is now) if it could be used IN-COMBAT.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>What do you think?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Be a kind of emergency mez/charm and assist you with killing mobs when you get multiple adds when soloing.</DIV>

The biggest problem I see with this is that by possessing something, you have to give up control of your character. In an emergency situation, I can't think of too many potential pets that would have more "panic button" abilities than we get as coercers, so I'm not really sure how useful it would be for that kind of thing. I do think something like this could be useful for adding some quick burst DPS in a fight, and anything at all would be better than how Possession currently works, but I would rather see something similar to the summoner intro AA ability. Imagine being able to do things like buff your group's tank with the damage shield from the biopsists in HoF (3000-5000 damage per proc...yum), or using some of the dirge/troub group buffs that mobs of those types often have in their spell lists but never, ever cast while charmed.

Well Possesion have 1 backdoor use <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> during raids <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />. Let say if possesed have PBAE type of attack and if named encounter really tough then it comes with minions and trivial then its along ... so you got the picture

The "Demented" mob in Lyceum is not a hard fight...and charming all his adds off is more dangerous than it is to just burn all the adds down. Posession is pretty much junk when you compare it to other lvl 65 spells that other classes recieve. In combat it would be exponentially more useful.

<DIV>All right <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> in a simple words ...</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Say you have encounter .... named mob and 4 minions, Minion have any kinda PBAE attack (possesion not always allow you use possesed mob vs. same encounter). You cast PBAE and let neiborhood to kill pet then to kill you .... repeat couple more time and you won <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV>

<P>Its just not going to happen.</P> <P>There is too many problems when you mess with encounters. And there doesnt seem to be a way to add/remove from a group during combat.</P> <P><img src="/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></P>

<DIV>Yeah, i think possession should be allowed to cast on incombat mob (same as charm) and most importantly be allowed to cast on own pet, i mean what can be wrg with possessing own pet, summoners can do that too, and they are'nt even COERCE-r.</DIV>

Wow thats another good idea, make possess useable on a charmed pet, that would just be awsome.

in pvp if a guy is standing next to a bell on a dock you can possess him and make him walk off the dock so he can be killed without zoning... just thought I would add <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /><div></div>

<blockquote><hr>Lleinen wrote:Wow thats another good idea, make possess useable on a charmed pet, that would just be awsome.<hr></blockquote>Heh, I've seen this posted by a number of people, including me, in practically every Possession-related thread that comes up on this board and the general boards. As far as I know, no dev has ever responded to any of those threads, though, so there's no way of knowing what they think about it. I do know that Defilers eventually complained enough that they got their level 65 spell buffed, but that was months ago, and I have a feeling that if Possession hasn't been changed by now, it probably never will be.
