<DIV>Has anyone else noticed any differences with Possession and Amnesia recently?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Posession:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I noticed within the past week that Possession appears to be behaving differently for me on some mobs.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I was bored and decided to do some root harvesting on Gazer Isle when one of the semi-rare level 60 Vicious Gazers was headed toward me. Since it wasn't quite in range to attack I decided to Posess it and jump it off the edge of the island.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I'd done this numerous times in the past with no adverse affects.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>This time, however, virtually every other Gazers or Detectors it went by (even those that weren't level 60) aggro'd it and were fighting it as I ran it to the edge of the island.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>The Gazer was falling, Possession wore off and instantly all of the dozen or so Gasers and Detectors were sitting on my Coercer beating on it.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I tested it perhaps a dozen more times with the exact same results.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I'd never had the possessed mob aggro other mobs before and had never seen mobs instantly transport to me from across the an island like that to be attacking me exactly as Possession wore off.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Amnesia:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>This one could be pure bad luck, however, if that's the case it was pretty extreme bad luck.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I've used Amnesia on Alzid Prime every week with almost no problems, extremely rarely had it been resisted by Alzid since we first cleared the Labs months ago.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Tonight, after this mornings patches to the live update it was resisted like 5-6 consecutive times by Alzid.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Has anyone else noticed either of those differences?</DIV><p>Message Edited by PluvianMist on <span class=date_text>09-08-2006</span> <span class=time_text>01:21 AM</span>

<P>With regards to possion I have always seen this behavior.</P> <P>When you posses you get the lvl of the target and the target gets your faction.</P> <P>I havnt tested amnesia. I normaly get a resist of prime in 1 of 20 or so. Or so I have been. </P> <P>Thats with amnesia m1</P>

<DIV>Thaks for the cocmments.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I have never had possession behave like that before last week. I've possessed the same mobs on Gazer numerous times in the past without drawing any aggro from the other mobs in the area. It may be that the relatively recent social aggro increases have made the difference since it has been a while since I goofed around on Gazer when I was bored.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I did some additional testing of it though and at very low levels (ie, the rats in Freeport and random mobs in Commonlands) I haven't been able to get aggro when possessing a mob unless I make it attack another mob.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Oh well, fortunately I don't really use Possession all that much.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>As for Amnesia, for now I'll just take it as a VERY unlucky night. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Like you, I almost never never see it get resisted and seeing it get resisted at least 5 times in a row made me decide to ask if anyone else has noticed a difference with it.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I was somewhat wondering if the spell level vs. mob level resistance decreases might have been tweaked by SOE again without my having noticed it in the update notes.</DIV>

<DIV>ok is it normal for anything the possessed mob to turn grey and if the mob is in a grp you cant hit the other grp members cus the fight breaks instantly and resets the mobs ?</DIV>

<P>Charm and possesion doesnt really like encounter locking. Turn that off when using either.</P> <P>And dont posses a mob that is part of an encounter. You will brake the encounter.</P>

<DIV>Something actually has changed with Amnesia.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Again using Alzid Prime as a reference:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>- I've always had the Ad3 version of Amnesia (I've never seen the M1 version for sale on broker or fense and no one I know of personally has ever found it).</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>- For months it has worked on Alzid Prime without ever being resisted (My Ordination thoughout that time has been at most 391 and commonly ~350 - 360).</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>- Pretty much always taking out Vyemm / Alzid on first pulls.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>As over a little over a week ago over 2 raids in the Labs:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>- Amnesia was resisted ~10 straight times by Alzid (I kept trying it with out normal group setups because friends and folks here repeatedly said nothing has changed.)</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>- Finally we re-arranged the groups to get a couple other classes that can buff ordination in the same group with my Coercer - getting my Ordination up to 441.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>- Amnesia no longer resisted on 3 attempts (we got 2 really goofy pulls at first, however, Alzid didn't resist Amnesia).</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Perhaps there was previously a bug of some sort that was allowing it to work prior to the recent updates and SOE corrected that bug, however, AFAIK SOE never mentioned such a fix in any of their recent update notes.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>It is quite annoying to get stealth changes of this nature.</DIV>

I used to have the resist problem on Alzid, but the last 2 weeks we've done labs, got him on the first pull both times. <div></div>

<P>SoE doesnt always say when they fix bugs or exploits. <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> <BR>No, Im not calling it an exploit.</P>
