It will take you a few levels before you start finding really good pets to use. There's a list here of some of the better pets, but they are few and far between until well into your 40s. It really depends on your playstyle. If you like the big numbers, stick to a wizard. Coercers don't always get to charm and when they don't, their dps is the worst of all mages.

LOL im sorry just have to say your subject line has nasty connotations! but yes, agree with above :-p
Message Edited by ximo on 09-07-2006 12:44 PM

Agree with above, but it is nice to have a wiz at your side in Nek3 when you see the 31567 dmg coming from your possessed box

At 36 with M1 Beguile I am finding it hard to get a good pet. Very few caster pets out there. Best I have had yet is a Runnyeye Sorcerer who maxed out at 1005 on a nuke. [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn] thing ran into combat way too often making soloing less than enjoyable.

Question: Where is this list of good level 40+ mobs to charm that you speak of?

So I just press them in rapid succesion and the pet happily stays back and nukes. Well... Almost happily.
