<DIV>Hi!</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I am currently considering making a Coercer after a long AFK from the game. I hear that they are amazing soloers now, and can use a sort of Root/ Charm/ Root tactic to solo triple up mobs and heroics etc, for amazing exp. However the guildie who told me says I should check to see if its been enrfed or not.</DIV> <DIV>Can anyone offer any advice on this? Id really like a Coercer if it is a viable solo class.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Thanks!</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Alesis / Apostate</DIV>

<DIV>I've done enough potentially nerfage posts that call attention to some of our more overpowered tactics, so I'm not going to go into details.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Suffice it to say that soloing stuff with Charm really, really, REALLY depends on the attack script and damage spell loadout of the Pets you can charm. Subsequently, we are Kings in some zones, and total [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn] in others. If we are looking at the charm method.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>There are others ways of soloing without charm (or without charm being our primary tool), and we can tear through non-heroic like crazy (pet or otherwise).</DIV>

<DIV>Theres no need to be an arrogant [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn] Skuall. The purpose of my post was to inform myself about something I didnt know. I seriously hope the feeling of superiority you got really got you off. Enjoy your uberness.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

If you're referring to the damage a mob/charm it/suicide it/charm the target/rinse/repeat method, yes, that has thankfully been nerfed. If you're referring to the charm a mage mob/root target/have pet nuke from max range method, that is still viable, but not for exp purposes. Currently, there isn't any way that I'm aware of for Coercers to efficiently solo heroics for experience.

from what i see, according to your post your friend is talking about the charm - kill pet method. which used to give <i>amazing exp.</i>if so, then yes. that was nerfed.if you're talking about soloing legally... then yes and no. we are really good soloers in some zones ( reaching the top of the soloing chart) and in other zones are really crap at soloing ( reaching the bottom of the solo scale). this is mainly due to the pets available.and, this is more of a charm, root mob, send in pet, stun and repeat method... not a charm - root method <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /><div></div>

<DIV>i solo from 45-50 through killing heroic^^ in SS, the key to success? master charm and healer pet, i charm a fury pet and set in tanking and attack, not roots needed, each fight lasts for less than a minute and get more than 1% xp per kill, whenever it gets low in hp, i start to stun until it casts it's regen which heals for more than 4000hp, it's damage is also high due to it has 2 dots which does about 500 damage PER tick, and a 2k++ single target nuke and 1k++ encounter nuke, only deaths comes from charm breaks(not always though, charm break can be react with mez).</DIV><p>Message Edited by Mordion89 on <span class=date_text>08-15-2006</span> <span class=time_text>08:37 PM</span>

I just hit 47 and scribed a master charm and tried glyphskull skellies, which nuked fairly hard but don't heal. also any advice on where to solo 50+ with a pet? Thanks!<div></div>

Once you get to Bonemire it's feasible to solo heroics for XP. I've just been blasting through those 67/68^^^ eyeball things on Cacotoxic and you can <b>almost</b> just send the candle in, do nothing, and the mob dies in seconds. With some nice stuns and so on, you can move from mob to mob with little or no downtime. In Barren Sky you can use the corpse candle type mobs on the Isle of Awakening and kill the 65/66^^ golems around Nest and around the edge of Whisperwind. They are pally mobs so they don't nuke much but you can use them to tank and do a bit of damage. For healer pets in SS, there are some in the cave under the Eye of Anuk. Called Sul'Dal Friar or something similar to that. Some of those undead mobs above the Bay of Anuk are not bad but they come in heroic groups and have roaming spectres nearby so you'll have to do some work to get one.<div></div>

<P>I used the sandscrawler goblins when I was hunting SS. They have healers, and nuke fairly hard too.</P>

<DIV>well at lvl 66 i found I could solo 70^^^ heroics its a risk as if pet turns on you your toast. charm a corpse flame go to the island with the lvl 69/70^^^ trees on it (sorry cant recall the name) then open up with a stun wile sending pet in.. time it so your next stun will land as the 1st run out... do this with all 3 stuns then load mob with stiffle spells and hopefully by then the mob is dead. then again a wizzy made that look like a noob show... when he took the named out solo on that island!</DIV>

<DIV>The named is only a single arrow up, so it'd be easier for anyone. Hell, my bruiser can solo that without going into stuns, just burn it down.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Try rooting with the corpse flame, and telling it to back off so it doesn't melee. Just tell it to attack every 3-4 seconds. School that wizard.</DIV>

The named on that island is the Carnovingian (71^^^). Maybe you're thinking of the King of Balefires (70^), Raidi? He's on Cacotoxic Stain. I've also seen 70 wizards solo Carnovingian, but I believe they use some sort of terrain or line of sight trick to prevent the mob casting on them. I don't know, perhaps they have a stifle thing. Anyhow, I just solo'd him 15 minutes ago and I'm only level 67. All the nameds on the Bonemire are easy to solo using the same method and since they are all immune to stuns, that is not by chain stunning. They aren't immune to mez or root - my recipe is just mez-root-psyche, pet attack-pet backoff-mez, pet attack-pet backoff-mez, and so on, until you win. Reapply root and psyche where necessary (so that if mez is resisted the mob doesn't come and give you a beating) <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /><div></div>

<P>Carnovigan is my regular farming animal - take around 3-4 min to kill TOP .... Wizards using different tactic thou</P> <P>Basically I can reveal how wizard solo Carno <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> - first you root it (and wizard root have snare built-in on termination neat ah?) then just use joisting tactic nuke and run out of casting range of mob... But I tell you what <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> at lvl 70 once I geared I became lazy - my coercer pretty much can resist most of Carnovigan nukes (I have accross board 5K+ resist to all)</P> <P>Speaking about solo exp grinding ... well its depends. As many said in a right zone with right pet coercer will tear whole apart in blink of eye. Rule of tomb - if you have melee (rogue/zerker) pet or healing capable pet - you best prey will be groups of 2-3 1-2 arrow down mobs. If you have true nuker pet or brigand pet that single triple ups will best for exp</P>
