<DIV>Hello all,</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I am currently lvl 22 coercer and i'd like to share my experience dealing with single solo mobs ( non heroic ).</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I dont use a pet to kill solo mobs - i think its easier and you dont have to worry about charm breaks - i use the following strategy :</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> <FONT color=#ff0000>Fascinate</FONT> --- encounter mob, you have time to cast..</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> <FONT color=#ff0000>Mana Flow</FONT> --- you will get back some mana in the heat of battle or at the end so you can procced to the next mob faster</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> <FONT color=#ff0000>Damage Psyche</FONT> -- Lower resists better damage</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Mob is still mezzed, non of the above 2 breaks it</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> <FONT color=#ff0000>Daunting Gaze</FONT> --- Stuns the mob giving you time to cast...</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> <FONT color=#ff0000>Gloom</FONT> -- Lower restists again plus Dot</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> <FONT color=#ff0000>Cerebral Lash</FONT> --- power leech plus Dot</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Mob is still stunned</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> <FONT color=#ff0000>Stupefy</FONT> -- another stun that gives you time to...</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> start Heroic Opp</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> <FONT color=#ff0000>Mind Slice</FONT> -- direct damage</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> <FONT color=#ff0000>Ego shock</FONT> -- direct damage plus daze</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Now the mob got mad and he starts running towards you but he cant use his auto attack</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> <FONT color=#ff0000>Silence</FONT> -- stifles, the mob cant use his spells and drains even more pwr</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> <FONT color=#ff0000>Hesitation</FONT> -- root the mob and step back</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>around this point you get some mana back from <FONT color=#ff0000>Mana flow</FONT></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>with another HO, <FONT color=#ff0000>Mind splice</FONT>, <FONT color=#ff0000>Mind splice</FONT> mob is dead</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>my spells are currently ad1 and single mezz Master 2</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>thanx for reading my post any suggestions are welcome...</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>make me a better coercer <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

At 23 it gets even better with Sybillant and that will make you want a pet. Charm breaking be damned, you can mez multiple mobs and recharm still.

<DIV>maybe you are right skid but i imagine that after Silence if you cast Sybillant you still dont need a pet</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>mob will die hitting you</DIV><p>Message Edited by Ever_Mac on <span class=date_text>08-14-2006</span> <span class=time_text>09:27 PM</span>

<div></div>I found with Sybillant Master II and the mob hitting my pet, the fight didn't warrant me using power for Silence. Mez-->Damaged Psyche-->Magic debuff hex doll-->Sybillant-->root-->sick pet-->re-root when refreshed-->Sybillant again-->mob dead. When using this tactic against yellow or orange mobs, you don't want them hitting you at all.<p>Message Edited by skidmark on <span class=date_text>08-14-2006</span> <span class=time_text>01:50 PM</span>

Or even better, why play a Coercer at all if you don't like to charm (especially solo) ?</P> <P>Even with Adept1 charm, a pet is a DoT that never expires.</P> <P>I'd start using a pet now, and get into practice with your "Charm-Break" tactics. When charm breaks, you get a screen flash and the pet auto-meses itself for 3 seconds. Simply root the mob you are fighting, back away, mes the pet and recharm.</P> <P>Using charm solo is very low risk, so I'd get used to it for those times when you may have to charm in a group. The better you can control and recover your pet, the more groups in general will be receptive to having a charmed pet among them.</P> <P>Cyene</P>
ppl wanting charmed pets in group ? hope so...sylbyant change all tactici usally charm buff pet (hate + dps) , sic pet, dot, at 80% sybilliant, if i take agro stun x2, resybilliant if expires fast and easy ...problems take agro? stun... charm breaks? cancel dots root, mez recharm...1 advice if u are going to break charm to kill pet...break and press mez non stop , cast sybilliant and nuke ....1 hit pet will die <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />

HoF used to be that way as well to some extent, given the number of unmesables.</P> <P>That being said, charm isn't really needed in most groups. It seems the really hard 6-man zones are the only ones that require that extra edge a 7th group member can provide.</P> <P>Cyene<BR></P>
i wish all zones become like this <img src="/smilies/283a16da79f3aa23fe1025c96295f04f.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> , i made a coercer only to charm mobs around <img src="/smilies/283a16da79f3aa23fe1025c96295f04f.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> love it badly ^^ , my favorite spell so far <img src="/smilies/283a16da79f3aa23fe1025c96295f04f.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> both eq,eqoa and eq2 <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />

<DIV>I was 22 last night and I was using Charm to solo until I could get a guild group together.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I was in Nek Forest killing Motley Kodiaks with those Sap buggers. I have Charm AD3 so I would charm a level 24 Sap and then do the following:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Root bear, send pet. Damage Psyc, Gloom. Start HO, Mind Splice. Wait.....finish HO, both stuns, Cerebral and then follow it up with Simple Minds.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Pet would be around 50% health so I would send it at another. Make sure I kill the kodiak, and then I would dismiss the pet, root back up and smoke'em.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Yes, I died 2 or 3 times at a bad charm break, with root off. That being said, I ended up in a group taking on Heroic ^ level 25 Sabertooths. I would charm one and send it on what we were fighting and root the other one. Member in the group said, God, having a Coercer sure is handy. Both characters had never grouped with a Coercer before. Now, I am not Uber, only 1 AD3 spell, and I couldn't even use that last night because the level restriction on the spell charm (lvl 10 ) is 24. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>We worked over some Gnolls last night. I can't wait for AE Mes and charm and root in a group. Should be a lot of fun!</DIV>

At lvl 22 i wouldnt worry about "tactics" tomuch .... at that point its still just mass slaughter of anything you can kill. Tactics come into play in t6 where it actuly takes time to lvl. <div></div>

Wow, that's a long chain of spells to kill one mob. Pets make things so much faster. My chain is pet attack, sybilliant, muddled thinking = mob dead, maybe root if pet is slow on the draw. Of course that probably because my main surfed the broker for months acquiring Coercer masters before I even rolled my Coercer alt. <div></div>

I keep forgetting not everyone is a Masteraholic like me. <div></div>
<P>Yeah, but you have to understand how important it is to get that charm mastered as soon as possible, regardless of level.</P> <P>There's tons of posts that go into this ad nauseum, so I won't repeat them here.</P> <P>Suffice to say, you have to really see master charm in action to actually believe it is as good as everyone says it is.</P> <P>Cyene</P>

<DIV>I know I understand the importance of the Master Charm, however, being brand new I have harvested for my AD3 Coerce at least. It will be a while before newer players have the coin to drop for certain master level spells.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I am working towards it, however, I'll use my AD1 spells and my AD3 charm and still be quite effective. I don't need to be a Master at every spell to be able to do my job in a group.</DIV>
