Possession, I have yet to get this spell, really close but I was wondering about its uses in PvP.Could I for example, run mobs into an xp group? Could I train a mob into a poor helpless afk'er on the docks? Is the damage good?I love the class for pvp, and cant roll an alt, as it would be far inferior to how I play. Thanks

This spell has an extremely limited time for use. It has none in PVP pretty much unless theres a mob nearby that you can possess real fast and use to flatten the other PVPer, but besides that no.

Yes you can run KOS mobs onto people, but thats messed up =p lol

The damage is really good, you just run the chance of training the mob you possessed on yourself unless your safe (as in, possess a social mob to hit the other one and once possess breaks, they both come)

/shrug, i like it, its a fun spell, worthless on raids and kinda frustrating because of that

Possession is actually very bugged and here are a few that you should always be aware of:

the mob will stop attacking as soon as the duration is over, unless the attacked target (PC or NPC) places a dot on the possessed mob

attacked NPCs immediately know who the possessor is and will come after YOU, unless the possessed mob has a high damage nuke that you have used

most of the time possessed mobs will not come after you, instead they will just continue doing what they were doing when the spell expires, for some time (i.e. standing still or running in a particular direction) (scripted mobs will sometimes not do anything, ever again)

possessed mobs will sometimes get displaced on the z-axes, which some time places them high up in the air or just under the surface, yet always close enough to attack you (or any passer by), without you being able to strike back.

possessed mobs often become KOS to their own race (you'll see the name of other NPCs with a red border), but you will be safe unless either you or the other NPC move.

if you have master possession your underwater NPC will start to drown after 30s (and thus take damage).

There are however some interesting aspects of Possession that can be very useful:

you can inspect all abilities that a mob has available, excluding the melee attack ability

you can inspect all attributes that a mob has available, including resists, hp, power, defence, avoidance, str, agi, etc.

you can use all abilities that a mob has available, including emotes

a possessed mob can die while being possessed

you can run mobs off of buildings and high cliffs and they can die from the fall

This spell intrigues (sp?) me, I would rather have something more CC or Damage wise, but I can use this in PvP. Do I get the hate if I break possession early? Or does the mob just stay there forabit and go back to its usual spot afterwards? If my first question's answer is no I can do some nifty tricks. If the answer is yes I get the hate, I will have to train it upon another group and wait for an attack against it and amnesia.
