Hello again all! Im a lvl 13 coercer and really enjoying the class! However today was my first real encounter grouping, in the Wailing Caves. To begin, the class was fun, but more work then I have ever had to do while in a group, far more then tanking even. I felt like a chicken with my head cut off lol! For all that work, im wondering, did I even really make a difference? At this lvl I have two buffs for the group, both a bit minor, nothing outstanding. My damage as well, pales compared to other DPS classes and while not running a parser, seems even less then some of the "fighter" types. So Id do my buffs, charm a pet and lay down dots, DD and my stun, only charm would break every so often, but not a huge biggie...though I felt like in a way, my charming, re-charming, killing charmed pets etc, was only a means of slowing us down...So then mez or CC...I did this, and I suppose it helped only I had to wonder, how much did it really help as opposed to my being swapped for say a brigand or some other dps class. Not to sound a downer, I love my coercer and this experiance has made me want to hone my skills alot more, as I feel I have alot to learn!Questions...1) Any lowbie grouping tips? IE what should I be doing and how?2) Is there a magic level where we all of a sudden feel like were helping out team out alot?3) Always so chaotic? (not that i dislike that hehe)4) Any better way of targeting and cycling through targets other then tab? Tab is not overly reliable and using the mouse can be really annoying, more so when your a shortie ( ratonga). Seems the coercer reallys needs to be quick to react and control situations and the act of targeting, seems to be what slows me down the most. Any tips here?Anyways, yea love the class, enjoyed grouping alot, just could use some pointers as I felt, for as hard as I worked, I have much to learn and would like to have more of a solid contribution to my team. Thanks all! <3 coercers! <div></div>

<DIV>1) For low levels theres no too much to do. Just mezz the adds and do some damage. You quickly gain spells that make you feel like your are helping the group by being there.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>2)At 24 what I have to offer a group is: Mezz, A lot of stuns/stifles/dazes, INT/AGi, DPS mod buff, extra hate gain for tank, power regen, and some damage.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>3) Not all the time, but when you are keeping 3 mobs down it gets tough(and really fun)</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>4) I normally click the mob I want to be mezzed, that way I know exactly where my mezz is going.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>From what I found charming during a group isnt the best of ideas, and when you get higher you will want the extra consentration slots.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I feel that I help out a group a lot. When we are killing higher lvl heroics and 2 different adds join the fight you really feel like you are saving your fellow members lives.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Hope this helps</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

<P>At lower levels, unless you happened to snag a master charm early, its better to just use the conc slots to buff. The target cycling is a bit borked in this game, it takes some practice but you will learn the tricks. Its not something we can tell you how to do on a message board, unfortunately.</P> <P>Also, i found at lower levels its sometimes just easier to stun/stifle/daze adds rather than mez, because most lower levels are either just learning or just don't care enough to assist and not break mez. Even in my 50's I have a hard time getting tanks to NOT jump on adds.</P>

<P>At level 34 I help the group best with the passive buffs. Forget the pets. Just put the aggro enhancer on the tank and DPS increaser on the melees and turn on your mana regen group buff.</P> <P>If it's a single mob encounter, just use sibyllant (from level 23) and your nuke. If it's a multigroup encounter, just use AE mez, nuke and yell on people for breaking mez. Not that it matters if they break mez. With the coercer buffs, most groups just plow through the mobs anyway. It's just good discipline and enchanters has done it since EQ1.</P>
