Hello all, Im posting here first as I feel this groups board is very well educated and helpful..sooo..here is to hoping you all can gimme a hand!I recently have returned to the game, I had played at launch got a zerker to 50 (was cap then) I raided, did MT etc and then left for, well a long time hah!So now im back and really torn on just want to play and have broken it down to; Bruiser , Necro and Coercer. Just to note on my server, Coercers are by far least played class of all, bruisers fairly uncommon (which is odd since theres TONS of monks) and Necros are plentiful it seems. Not that it matters much, but just throwing it out there. Ok, onto the questions!1) Solo ability, both in grinding mobs for xp, questing, farming and soloing heroics for kudos. Of the three listed which performs Best to worst and why? (From my limited experiance playing each on the isle, the Bruiser and Necro solo very easy as in I can watch a movie and check my screen here and there. The coercer can do ok but its far far more involved and forces you to be on your toes it seems. That said, I enjoyed the challenge often enough. Though when I did slack...my charm decided to break and two mobs decided to add...i lived though! )2) Grouping viability in terms of xp groups and dungeon / instance groups. On the same token, how easy / hard is it for them to find groups? Same formula as above. (When I played before, bruisers were insane DPS and could kinda tank I know this has changed greatly, Necros..well there was one necro on the server of a high lvl back then but have heard people adore them, now coercers back then were red headed step children who could not get a group for the life of them...though I often invited one! ) So yea...how does each perform? Coercers more sought after now?3) Raids! Being new again and many guilds well established im wondering how each will do getting invited to raids and how desired they are within the raids? And, how exciting is each?4) Fun factor! Explain your opnions please! Ok well I know many wont have answers for any but the coercer but that is ok, and Im sure some of you will have an understanding and thats even better. I do appreacite the time you all take to reply to this and I know its rather wordy. Im just stuck on which character to stick with at this time and could use some educated direction hehe! And no, I dont like alts, I preffer a single main to focus on, if any wondering why I dont play em all. Again thank you! And I suppose I may post this on other class forums as well to get a better outlook. Coercer related, I did not think Id care for the class but wanted to tool around with one and I got hooked on it right off the bat. The class plays far different then anything else, is a challenge and shows alot of depth and varied tactics. Im an experianced MMO player, so do enjoy the challenge of the class and "newness" of it, however the more lazy, autopilot play in me, worries a bit

rather short answers, but:1. all 3 classes have there advantages and disadvantages to soloing. that being said, these are probably the best 3 soloers in the game, by quite a bit. it would be too difficult to say which one is best. bruisers can solo pretty fast in any situation. including all types of named, and can run + fd to get to them through instances. solo mobs definently arent a problem for this classcoercers can solo pretty much anything, but faster depending on where you are ( and the level of your charm). they rely on invis to get to named mobs in instances ( they also have an AA ability that lets them run past see invis mobs, which is really handy). solo mobs you wont have a problem killing.necromancer, i would have to say are the slower soloers of the 3, but have the advantage of having 3 different types of pet for each situation ( and the fact they have a 100% reliable pet, unlike the coercers charm) they can solo equally, but at a slower rate ( from my knowledge)2. for grouping viability, on my server people seem to always be looking for dps. bruisers excell here, as they are good replacement dps and can also MT if required ( ignore any rumours, for regular groups whether its instance, or dungeon crawling they are very good tanks still). necro's i cant really comment on. coercers are still finding it hard to get groups. there are a few factors that are preventing coercers from getting a group. when looking for members, groups will say a)what is a coercer? b) coercers might make your group safer, but mezzes just slow down exp. rates. c) why not just fill that last spot with another dps? (which is true, we dont offer much to a group apart from being a buffbot, since our dps isnt all that great without a pet)after the last few LU's, this has changed quite alot. ( also the fact coercers have to look for groups to level up now ) chances of getting a group: bruiser, necro, coercer ; 4:2:1 (no, i didnt pass maths, so dont quote me on it lol)another important thing to say is, since coercers are so rare, your chances of getting a group could rise ( there are a few high end zones that are near impossible without a chanter of some sort)3. finding a guild as a coercer was no hard task at all. after i moved from kithicor to najena, i honestly had 4 or 5 tells on the first day from raiding guilds wanting to invite me. but, a normal size raiding guild will only need 1-3 coercers maximum. usually only 1 is used on a raid, for the MT group.as a bruiser, i think you might find it a little harder to find a guild. mainly due to plate tanks getting priority for MT over brawlers. unless you can find a role as a second MT, or even a MA. (i think most tanks are finding it hard to get guilds, because thats what they do. tank. you arent gonna need a group of tanks in a raid, with the little - medium utility they add.as a necro, you could find it easier to get a guild, since your a dps, and you can never have too much dps + you do add some utility ( fd and shards are a big plus too). although, necromancer is one of the most popular classes im pretty sure. which will hinder your chances. cant comment on anything else.4. fun factor is determined by the player. which role fits your interest? coercer is a fairly advanced class to play. but then again, the possibilities in what you can do are limitless. bruiser (tank) is also a pretty advanced class to play (if you like to experiment, and learn ways to better your play style) necromancer is the easiest of the 3 to play, IMHO. but, you can learn ways of getting the best advantage on your dps this is all in my opinion though, so dont worry about quoting me on it, beating it with a stick... whatever, because i aint gonna listen

Message Edited by spammy on 07-31-2006 11:12 PM

Awesome reply, thank you ever so much Spammy! You gave some detailed insights and overall I think its down to bruiser and coercer. Im very much into leveling the coercer more, perhaps raising them both a bit for a better feel. My only concern in group viability as I level up, was my worry that the coercer class as a whole was still misunderstood or not understood at all and that it could be easier to just sub in another DPS. Again thank you for your insights!
