It appears to me that the mobs I do not have targeted when recasting Breathtaking Awe on an encounter do not get remezzed. It used to work fine, but now only my target gets mezzed again. Is this intentional?

if i understand you correctly, this looks like a side effect to mez taking the mezzed target out of area of effect spells.... and breathtaking awe is an encounter spell (aoe)
but im not 100% sure... i havnt tested it, and im not even sure if encounter is considered aoe lol.

Correct. Its getting blocked as though it is a an ae nuke etc...

Which was the problem before, which was why it was changed to NOT block AoE. But now it's back to how it was before. :smileysad:

Definitely makes locking down an add encounter more difficult.

More people need to /bug it.

Assuming no resists, if you are careful, you can begin casting this spell at 2.0 seconds left on duration, the mobs will move a tad bit and become re-mez'd. I actually like it better it removes the targets from AoE, even if i do have to suffer with this. Just my opinion though.

I actually like that it removes from AoE.

They should just do one of their little tweaks and make it so it blocks all aoe, except for mez's. That would be the best of both worlds.

Judging by what the Devs have said about enchanters and LU24, I think that the Astonishing Awe line is now working as they intend it to, as listed on the spell. Many folks wanted an AE mez spell that removed targets from AoE spells, well, we got it. Unfortunately now we have to deal with the consequences of our complaining...It says it removes targets from AoE, and thats exactly what it does, including remezzing. I will go ahead and /bug report it, but I think that the Devs intend it to be the way it is. Im not saying I like it, in fact I think it was the biggest nerf we took. In general, and this is an opinion, I think the Devs have looked at how classes were able to solo heroic encounters and have purposefully changed certain aspects of abilities, such as reuse timers, spell effect etc to limit that ability.

I have a maintained window UI tweak that shows the timers on all my spells. I just time my cast to leave myself just under a second before it will land, so the mobs are back up for only half a second.

I could see how it might be harder if you don't have a visual number being displayed...

I've found that little UI tweak one of the most useful things for my coercer. It's at http://www.eq2interface.com/ if you want to check it out. Under "effects & maintained", and there's a few different options (regular size, 3/4 size, vertical, full names, etc).

It's nice to take some of the guesswork out of the crowd control abilities (or speeding things up if you currently highlight to see the duration).

I like the fact that I now just train my groups that as long as their AE spells aren't dots, they can go ahead and drop them all they wish while i'm mezzing. Before i had to train them to wait for me to give them permission, now i just give permission for dots. My monkeys I group with are good people, they are awesome and I loves them all.... with hate... go innoruuk!!

The 9% on this spell is [mentally slow] and the change to this spell is [mentally slow]....how do you think this is a good change!?
Give us back our 30% (20 at least, gawd, its master 1 gimmie a break) and make it not block mezzes....
they said they put mezzes on a whole seperate ability now (it used to be stun, now its considered mesmerize).

so just say something like:
Blocks Target from all AoE (Except when Direct)
- If spell is not a mesmerize

I doubt I'll really care if another enchanter mez's my mobs for me...:smileywink:

Message Edited by Lleinen on 06-24-2006 10:26 PM

I wonder if it blocks AE taunt now too.
