<DIV>I'm an illusionist and got this AA charm from the WIS line (which you also get) about a week ago and haven't tried it.  Since it only lasts 15 secs its usefulness it highly questionable.  But I was wondering if it could be used for quicker xp like this:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>1. You charm a pet</DIV> <DIV>2. You send it to attack a mob and try to kill mob before 15 secs</DIV> <DIV>3. Pet turns on you but is now half dead</DIV> <DIV>4. You kill former pet (easier for us illusionists since we have a regular pet to help us do this.....actually, not sure we could have both at the same time but that's another issue).</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>This old stuff of course.  The point being since you know when the pet is going to turn so reliably maybe you can use that fact to xp faster.   You guys are the experts at this so what do you think?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Bawango</DIV> <DIV>70 illusionist - Crushbone</DIV> <DIV>Sleep Disorder</DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

<DIV>One thing they made charm do is change the mob when you begin controlling it. So if you have a heroic^^^ mob it then becomes more of a solo ^ mob. Now one of the problems this causes is if you send it to attack another mob and it loses 50% of its health and it breaks. It will then have the amount of hp as it was when it was heroic. So it probably has more like 90% of its health because its hp pool is much larger now. This obviously wont matter if your just going to fight solo mobs.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Also, another problem with the wis aa charm apparently from what I read in here is that its more like their app1 version of charm. REALLY REALLY weak. So if you charm a mob it hits really weak.</DIV>

<DIV>Yeah, I've had my doubts about the usefullness of this pet from the beginning but I figured I can give it a try since I can always respec.  Interesting that the only response I got was from another illusionist.  Maybe they don't want us here....(backs away stealthily)</DIV>

<P>He answered it pretty fully. I read this thread, but figured I had nothing to add!</P> <P>The charm is pretty much at app1 in quality... so it's fairly useless in added damage. I think of it as more of a stun or mez that comes with a little extra damage.</P> <P>Recast is 45s, so that kind of supports the idea. Could be used multiple times in one fight.</P>

Thats actually a good point. For an illusionist in eq2 its actually a good alternative for CC. Theres no way someone can break your charm. :smileyhappy: But pretty useless otherwise. Just a good way to remove a mob from the encounter for 14 seconds.
