<DIV><FONT color=#ff6600>I understand that with Charm, the only difference between early and later ones is the time a mob remains under ones control, and that it is better to use a Master Charm, if duration of the effect is less important then actually landing it.</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT color=#ff6600></FONT> </DIV> <DIV><FONT color=#ff6600>Is the same true for Mesmerize, or are later levels more effective and say a later level Adept be more effective in success then an earlier level of Mesmerize, even if the earlier level one is mastered?</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT color=#ff6600></FONT> </DIV> <DIV><FONT color=#ff6600>Thank you in advance for your insight.  -CC</FONT></DIV>

The only differance between an Adept III mesmerize and a Master 1 Mesmerize is the resistiability which plays a huge role in "the trouble" you have with mezzing mobs...currently master mez's are being pushed down to 9% (yuck!) instead of 30%...huge nerf...

<P><FONT color=#ff6600>Perhaps my question isn't as clear as it could be.</FONT></P> <P><FONT color=#ff6600>Place the Apprentice/Adept/Master part aside for a moment.   What is the inherent advantage of the Mesmerize spell as you get new ones as you level?   I assume they become more effective against those higher level mobs, but I'm not certain.</FONT></P> <P><FONT color=#ff6600>Assuming it does become more effective at higher levels, would you suggest using the Master Mesmerize about an Adept Beguile, or the one that comes after that, if all you can find is Adept upgrades?</FONT></P> <P><FONT color=#ff6600>What do you mean by 9% to 30%.      How is that a nerf?</FONT></P> <P><FONT color=#ff6600>Thanks -CC</FONT></P>

<DIV>Higher level Mez spells last longer, the one I just got at 52 is 45 seconds I think where my last one was 35-40 seconds.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><FONT color=#ff6600>"What do you mean by 9% to 30%.      How is that a nerf?"</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT color=#ff6600></FONT> </DIV> <DIV><FONT color=#ffffff>Currently a master is 30% harder for the mob to resist, where it will now be changing to only 9% harder to resist, huge nerf...</FONT></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Rorion</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

I had not heard of the resist change.....that does suck.

I did not see the resist nerf in any notes either and the screenshots I took from test after getting both a Illusionist and Coercer buffed to 70 don't show the resistance being nerfed that low. All Adept III mez spells were 20%.

It's just the encounter/AE mez (cant recall name) that is getting nerfed down to 9% dont think they are giving it to us on the regular mezzes.<div></div>

<DIV>Effectively after LU24 an M1 9% Mez with have a slightly worse resistability than the current Ad1 version of the spells at 10%.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Seems like a ridiculous change.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>OTOH: I've never had my mezzes above Ad1 and have never had a problem mezzing anything that's mezzable.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I guess after the changes I may have to purchase an M1 version to have roughly the same resistability that I have now.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Oy...</DIV>

You can check out some screenies from test on <a href="http://eqiiforums.station.sony.com/eq2/board/message?board.id=27&message.id=12544" target=_blank>This Thread</a>Notice that "Enrapture" (Single target mez) is a 30% harder resist and "Astonishing Awe" (Encounter Mez) is down to a 9% harder...On the bright side, they did remove the 4 target max limit on the Awe line.<blockquote><hr>PluvianMist wrote:<div></div><div>OTOH: I've never had my mezzes above Ad1 and have never had a problem mezzing anything that's mezzable.</div><hr></blockquote>Yeah, agreed, I would be satisfied with Ad1 on my mezzes as well unless I could get my hands on an M1 real easy<div></div>

<DIV>In a moment of temporary insanity I made my Mezz up to Master II, it is quite reliable even against orange cons, which is very useful.</DIV>
