---This drops in Deathtoll.Doesn't SoE have any love for us Coercers? I have not found any item yet that gives a class defining ability that you can just click.Would be something similar to giving a Figther / Priest class a weapon that you could right click to get a Conjurer / Necro pet. Or a clicky that you could cast Ice Comet.Lets us not forget that people with status now can buy an item to charm a mob as well.Getting tired of SoE taking and taking from the Coercer class and at times giving our abilities to other classes. Then they wonder why the class is the least played.---Heard through the grapevine that at the Fan Fair they where talking about using PvP rules for stun / stifles but some Epics would be affected? This would kill the enchanter class for the example below.Enchanter Mezzes mob for 55 secs, mob comes out of mezz and now it immune to stuns (mezz is a stun) and stifles (? thought I heard that stifles / stuns where on the same timer on pvp) for 55 secs, basically rendering most of are abilities useless during that time.I love playing the Coercer but as each day passes it just upsets me as to where SoE is doing to our class and our counterparts, the Illusionists.

This would [Removed for Content] me off more but seeing as how Posession does not work on PVP opponents anyways; meh let them ruin it for chanters. Think how [Removed for Content] people would be if they released an item that had another classes 65 spell on it (not that many of them are too good to begin with :manwink:)Im not sure if stun's are on the same immunity check as stifles, but if I ever log in again I will check. It is bad enough that mezz and stun are are the same check though, already. But let me tell you this; I have been beta testing a new and upcoming game that has the hype to smash the fantasy mmorpg market, but in playing I can appreciate all the mechanics in eq2 that actually work; no matter how restrictive:smileymad:Playing my coercer has been a blast through PvE (lvl 35 atm) and its the little things that I keep noticing that turn me off. If they change stun/stifles to have an immunity in PvE, I will definitly roll a new class, or even worse, quit. All the other classes have these abilities too, so putting an immunity check on them would severly hinder my PvE role. Sure I could nuke more often but thats no fun -- nuking for around 200 (splitpaw -- word of force :manhappy:), where others are ripping it up. Now I have 2 stuns and 2 mezzes to use at my disposal, and a PvE immunity check on these spells would suck, imho.

First off, please learn to read before you rant, it says dispelled on any hostile action. In other words, its a fluff spell or i suppose a ghetto mez. As for the PvP rules applying to epics i dont understand your problem, they arent affected at all as is. SoE gives you a finger but you want the whole hand.

SoE is giving me MY OWN finger and I just want my hand back.

If they did it as part of an all class effect then it could easily backfire on SOE since it could (should) also mean that stuns, stifles, mezzes, and the like that mobs use on players would have the same limitations.

Players not being chain stunned by groups of mobs attacking them would be an ironic side effect of such a change.

Ah well since they are stealing your class-defining ability with this item, you probably wouldn't mind if they replaced your charm to work like this item, and took the item out. Which means anything you charm breaks as soon as it attacks anything. After all your class defining ability is to charm something, not to control it and have it aide you.

Edit: Even if the crowd control changes go live, it is not a nerf to enchanters, it is a nerf to everyone, or are you saying that scouts dont use stuns and snares and stifles and mezzes, nor do bruisers...

Message Edited by SeratedEdge on 04-11-2006 02:18 PM

Again signal9, reading comprehension is a wonderful asset when insulting someone, i did not bring in the stun/stifles into the thread, it was already brought in via the OP. And I am not a troll, I am simply getting annoyed by this person whining that his class defining ability is being taken away by an item that can be used for pulling and for fun. And I am not arguing for half a classes abilities to be nullified, I said, that it is not a direct nerf to enchanters as it affects everyone, again PLEASE LEARN TO READ, as i told the OP as well. I was stating that if this item was using his class defining ability then he shouldnt mind the charm he uses being replaced by it. I am not the one with the strawman argument. And when insulting someone, you should also use proper spelling and know what you are talking about, melee dmg and CC are not comparable, however taunts and CC are. If your going to make an argument, no matter how ridiculous, please make it be a intelligent one.

The main difference is that the item skill is domination. Where as the Coercer spell is dominace.

Personally I would like to see some CoH totems in the game or an in game item so that Enchanters can use, like a life tap or FD.

I see that tanks can use this item to help hold agro and save a healer. Since when the charm breaks they will get the hate from it. In addition, may help other classes understand what we do. The downside is that if enough of these items get in game it will make the removal of the class much easier, as the items can be upgrade at that time to full duration charms.

You might see it as whining, for me it is just fustration for to me it seems that SoE it just making items with Charm abilities just a bit to easy to get. This in turn reduces the need (if there is one at all) to have a Coercer. If there was an item that you could click to have your toon FD at 100 or even 90 percent ability. Brawlers would complain for that would take away from their class. For some situations people may use a brawler to FD to start an encounter or to do so when a raid is wiping so that they can pop up and use a shard on a cleric. Now if other classes had this item then why bring a brawler class when healing would benefit more or a mage for dps. Then some brawlers would speak up against it.No one likes having the class abilities given to another class, for as I stated above it reduces the need for them to be there and it takes away from what makes the class what it is.
