Amnesia - do you use it?

Hey everyone,I just recently dinged 55, and received access to some new spells. Amongst others, Amnesia. I bought it at Adept 1, and I started wondering...how much do you use it? Is it worth getting Adept3 / Master 1 ? Or is this another, pretty useless spell? In groups until now, I've mainly just mezzed, stunned and in certain situations, used root to save people, e.g. healers. But should Amnesia get a spot in my primary hotbar, next to my reactives, stuns, mezzes and roots?Not asking because I'm not willing to test it out myself - I am, but I like to hear/read other Coercer's opinions on things as well.//Iliidae

Its a VERY situational spell.Therefore, very limited in utility.Try it during a raid - you'll get yourself killed pretty quick.<div></div>

IMHO its usefull when soloing more than in groups or raids.I have used it occasionally in groups (never in raids) but as mentioned above, its a verysituational spell.Worth Adept3'ing? Not really.Worth Master1'ing? Only if it's really cheap (gp, not pp).<div></div>

<div></div><p>I use it all the time.  I have it tied to a macro so it announces in raid and group:</p><p>Raid: WILD MOB WIPING HATE LIST ALL ATTTACK OFF !! -</p><p>2 reasons this helps</p><ol><li> the /y call comes and everyone left strips to save armor and only I have to die if everyone drops their attacks fast enough</li><li>Tank death or agro loss (since im in tank group) we can coordinate agro control swap...</li></ol><p>Group:  AMNESIA --- TAUNT NOW if you want the mob.</p><ol><li>mob targeting cleric/high DPS class much easier reset agro with 1 taunt.</li><li>Long mezz holds where i have built a lot of agro ... easier to wipe it and one taunt off, than repeat taunts</li><li>my favorite: dungeon crawls when we pull in usinson with a nother group and they have the mob but we have agro.. I wipe it and bring it back to group and root it. </li></ol>

<div></div>There are sometimes I pull unreal amounts of hate or someone else does, perhaps the mob memwipes and starts chasing all the dps, that's when i use it.

Its very useful when you notice an add is killing someone in your group (hey, you can't be alert all the time).  The casting time of .5 sec makes this spell useful.  However as this spell is seldom used it can be hard to remember its existance.  If it takes you 2 seconds to find the [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn] spell on your toolbar you would be better off using your usual tactic of handling adds.  This is a matter of playstyle or skill even.>Amnesia - do you use it? Yes, I use it.  I even used it yesterday to save a lower level groupmember that got into red health in one hit.<div></div>

Yep - like I said, very situational.  And you really have to train your raidmates and grooupmates to respond properly to the cast and have it macroed to spam the message so they can grab aggro before you become a greasy spot on the wall.<div></div>

<div></div><p>Amnesia is what I call the 'Martyr' spell.</p><p> </p><p>If you're about to wipe, cast amnesia on the mobs.  If no one heals you or hits the mob, you're the only one who dies, you're the only one on the hatelist.</p><p>If anything it can save 25-50% of your force.</p>

I've used it a lot in PvP its a very fast cast and the stun last long enough to get a few dds / reactives off before they can get back in the fight.
