<DIV>Alright, given our new Charm I decided it would be nice if we all got together to make a list of the best mobs to charm in each zone as a reference not only for ourselves but up and coming Coercers.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I myself suggest these mobs when in the commonlands.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>lvl 10-17 Dervish Heretics. Great pet, really 2 pets for the price of 1, plust their pet taunts so they hold aggro really well.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Lvl 10-17 Orc shamans/priests. These guys have great abilities. Heal is enough but caster/healer mobs are awesome.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Lvl 18-25 I suggest trying to get a skeleton priest from the ruins of valmarr that still cons green.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>25+ Hands down after 25 the best pet I've found in the commonlands is the shadowed rift watcher. These guys spawn a close to the yapping maze entrance from the Nek station behind a large boulder with a tent nearby. They are usually about Lvl 35vv and I've found they resist charm a LOT, but are pretty much the strongest charmable mobs in the zone and also have a strength tap which doesnt benefit them at all since they are caster mobs. Just be ready for resists. At 31 I charmed it 3 times total, and I think it resisted i 4 times. Its worth it tho, especially if you need to finish a tough solo fight.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Thats all I've got, anyone got any other zone pet listings?</DIV>

<DIV>I normally find a named caster, charm the named, kill the adds and use the for a pet.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Just make sure no one needs it for a quest, I was soloing in CT for loot and my pet happened to be one of the mobs needed for the screaming mace quest. So when another group came in and where camping for that named, they did not like seeing me walk past with the named they were after as my pet.</DIV>

<DIV>Well <A href="http://eqiiforums.station.sony.com/eq2/view_profile?user.id=27430" target=_blank><SPAN>Usermaatre</SPAN></A> I'd be more than happy to break it down for you.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Either by intent, or bug, ^^^ mobs keep their full power pool while charmed, although their hp/damage gets nerfed. Hence, when you charm a ^^^ caster who nukes for 2k and melees for 600+, that heals himself, and NEVER runs out of power (repeat: NEVER) you have a high risk reward situation on your hands. Actually I dicovered rather interesting pet - it not nuke hard compare to shaman, it dont heal self but! it AoE like mad (940-1100 per pop) and idealy suit for cash farming purpose (good coercer in semisleep mode should able grind around 50gp/hour solo easy) .... goblin diabolist. Goblin diablolist + PW+ DG usually killing outright any solo packs of 1-2 arrow down mobs.

EL - The halflings at the docks, they tear through mobs. PoF - Sergeant Tuskin from the camp... having a lvl 65 pet does wonders for mowing through mobs. <div></div>

<DIV>Heh a little bragging rights <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> goblin shamaner lvl 58 with minimum of my help teared appart triple up harpy razorfeather (lvl 55 mob). At lvl 58 of coercer they heal self during combat on 1784HP per pop and nuke upward 2484 per pop (still have to bit SandFury Visionary who nuked for 2684)</DIV>

<DIV><FONT color=#00cc00>EL</FONT>: by far the best pets I've used are the <FONT color=#00cc00>Distorted Nymphs</FONT>. They heal themselves and dish out massive damage if you have a master charm.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Always, always try to find a caster pet that heals itself!</DIV>
<P>Doing any quest in PoF I grab a Shammer. First Mistake I learned was trying to help out the Shammer when it was taking on a group of MOBs. Died twice "helping". Third time I just sent it in at full power. Every time it got low in HP it healed itself up and then wiped another MOB. Went in and cleaned up the bodies afterwards.</P> <P>Hopefully, when Kingdom of the Sky comes out we will have good pets there too.</P> <DIV>P.S. Tanatus, did you have a debuffs running to get that large of a hit? </DIV><p>Message Edited by Nerjin on <span class=date_text>12-29-2005</span> <span class=time_text>02:40 PM</span>

Scorn:sundancer ^^ .. nukes for 2,6k - heals for 2k - wards and melees pretty niceit can actually pretty much solo the two snakes in scorn with a lil stun help, the skeletal snake requires intense stunning but still doable with pet. but dont bother trying the other 3 nameds with pet ^^P.s.: did it with beguile master1

<DIV>Nah, the heralds are available outside the temple, you have to go pretty deep to get to the bloodcallers (I'm pretty sure that's the name), but they're a lot higher quality than heralds.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>-Proboscus,</DIV> <DIV>58 coercer,</DIV> <DIV>Neriak</DIV>

I think I charmed the same mob on the way to the library. I want to say Torturer or Inquisitor, I know it's the mob grouped with the Bloodcallers anyway. It was a very good pet and fought well for us. Seems to me the one we had was ^^ so it's a bit more risky to have him fight for you. </span><div></div>

<div>I don't know what you guys are talking about. The best pet in PoF, hands down, is the mender. Sure, he dies in 2 hits, but your group mates can still use him as a mender. Nothing beats a pocket mender :smileyvery-happy:</div>

Sinking Sands:Alliz Raef Ew Shamans, surrounding one of the twin tears (lizardman)These are by far easier to get than the unliving augurs, and I've had them perform just as well or better than the augurs. They spawn as level 49 or 50, in either groups of 4 (no arrows) or 3 (each with a single up arrow). The up-arrow version seems best as it has a greater power pool. I usually AE mez the 3 lizards, charm the shaman, mez one of the other lizards and sick my pet on the third. If I am careful about adds I can do this without taking any damage at all. Once the shaman's buddies are dead, he can sometimes solo the ^^ scouts and the ^^ crocodiles that roam around. The other groups of lizards are no problem at all using a similar method you use to capture the shaman.Good luck!-RJ-

<div>My new favorite in EL are the Runnyeye Seers ... they usually come paired with a merc or mender, both ^^. I finally found Beguile Master I (Woot!!) and while they do break on occasion (they're lvl 35 and I'm on 33), they rip through the trash around the docks. He can nuke for over 500 a pop. I think I'm in love.</div>

There's usually a bunch of them up near the raptors, none are heroic, and they have all the benefits of the other priest mobs.

<div>First I want to say thanks for this post. Nice to see something positive and actually helpful in a general forum of despair.</div><div> </div><div>I solo a lot in Sinking Sands, mostly now for status quests. My favorites there are the giant beetles, ghouls, and Sandscrawler Menders. The beetles make decent tanks and throwing the illusions on them is just funny. Ghouls are like wizards with hitpoints. the Menders are quite awesome as once in a while they'll throw a group heal plus they have decent spell DPS. Anywhere else I generally try to get a caster pet or something fun to use.</div>

<div></div><p>Any casters are great when in a group.. healers are best when soloing.</p><p> </p><p>In Sinking Sands, one that I've not heard anyone mention is the orc healers: Rujarkian Protectors.</p><p>These guys are usually 47-49, so they can be charmable by a low 40s coercer. I used this guy to complete all the food, undead, and fur trader quests.. basically quest xping myself from 42 to nearly 46 in two days. The last guys under the Eye of Anuk (forget their name, but some 51+ undead guys) were kind of tough since they resist nearly everything I threw at them.. but every other quest was easily doable with just that charmed guy.</p><p>Before that, I was doing quests and leveling through the 30s in Feerott. The lizardmen Disciples (close to the docks, or in groups near Headhunters) are great in the low 30s, and Healers (at the far end, closer to CT) work very well in the late 30s.</p><p>BTW, do those cataloguing and location quests for that person near the docks. Reward on the 5th quest is a 14 int shoulder piece, wearable at 40 (or possibly earlier?). Also, the Troll guy who wants you to kill things for food has a ring reward (Gleaming Soul Eater ring or something like that), that is a nice early 10 Int ring that is wearable early in levels, before you get into Ring of Delights from SS, or a t6 rare.</p><p>Feerott is a pretty friendly place for Coercers actually, between charmable mobs and quests. You can level fast if you play past your vitality and go for quests.. since quests don't use or rely on vitality for the amount of xp they give.</p>

In TS, the Skindancer Defilers are maniacs of destruction with Coerce Master I. Nukes 700-800ish damage.
