<DIV>After so called "hot fix" I decide to dig out of dirt my lvl 51 coercer to see how master 1 domination (that I bought for 1 or 2pp due to huge excess coercers in world) work</DIV> <DIV>a) Listed duration of charm is 20 min .... not bad to start with</DIV> <DIV>b) Went to catch pet to see duration - on no arrow up mobs that are few lvls below me and conned blue (and anything below of course) charm lasted full duration every time (cudos for fix), on blue coned (lvl 47 mob) 1 arrow up undeads ...... lasted full duration most of time (lost several pets during curiousity attempt on tanking sand giant with em just to see how long pet last), blue con triple arrow up (wizard giant) - have no clue if charm last full duration lost 2 giants at will because thier HP was reduced to no arrow mob and believe you or not but they no match for sininster ghouls lol (will talk about it later). Went in MajDul decide to brag some rights charming double arrow up Truth Guards at True court entrance (lvl 54 ++ type mobs) - first I experienced initial resistance several time (normal I guess), second - duration of charm was longer then 2 min (that long took second guard to kill my pet). Went and tried to charm named captain - nah - it not working they immune to charm. Anyway playing for couple hours I am FULLY satisfied with charm stability, duration and initial resist ... But folks bear in mind I have <STRONG>MASTER 1</STRONG> Domination - so dont expect have same efficiency</DIV> <DIV>c) DPS of charmed pets .... now something interesting here. First and foremost dont look on amount of arrow above mob head - triple arrow up dont make a good pets - well at least I haven't found anything good. Look on the class of the mobs and general type of mob (I like undead). Best pet I seen so far was glyphskull skeletons - those mages tear apart everything on thier way - while of course I would not able match DPS warlock or wizard on group mobs - I definitly not dramatically behind em either. Glyphs can take on group of 3 skeletal copra and evaporate em under 60s. Magus, Spell Lash (I have M2 of this) - definitly way to go with charmed pet - I did not bothered cast any dots or nukes - just root, magus, spell lash, ravaged psy sometime mez if thing goes hurly. Second best pet was sinister ghoul - also nasty nuker but with him I notice trade off - he more durable then glyphskull but have less DPS then glyph. Dont charm aninmals - crappy DPS even from poisonous creatures like spiders or and asps. Overall? I am HAPPY with DPS of charmed pets that I was able to control - key is the finding good caster type with initial low mental resistance (I like undeads really do)</DIV> <DIV>d) <STRONG>BAD</STRONG> part - 5 encounter lock bug STILL in game. Guys if you lost during fighting 3 or 4 pets once you charm 4th or 5th one you CANNT force it to attack anything BUT mobs still can engage you (for curiousity purpose I trained quete a few mobs to see how many I can agro if I have charmed pet that refuse attack anything ...... well I got like 5-6 mobs on my tail w/o any chance to retaliate .... Good thing to clear this effect you dont need to log out - just zone out. Oh btw you cannt zone out if you have charmed pet. ALso funny part you say park pet by zone to PoF and go docks .... release pet ..... and guess what happend? lol pet will run from POF zoneline to the docks to have seks with you. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><STRONG>Overall </STRONG>Charm in current stage providing that you have <STRONG>Master 1 Domination</STRONG> and know what you are doing is <STRONG>FINE</STRONG> please dont do anything with it, I can even live with 5 encounter lock</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>P.S. About Roots. Well ppl - duration was NOT increased Fatal Hesitation instead of 36s now working 37.5s lol if you call it "greatly increased duration" I am Albert Enstien. Stability .... I have Adept 1 - I had about as much brake as ppl with Master 1 aka ~12% but due to specific of way I was using it (charm-solo with Master 1 Domination) it did not looked to me game braking for SOLO. I made coercer to be operator of charmed and now finaly I can be one</DIV>

<P>I have to second what Tanatus wrote. Master I dominate is very effective and breaks rarely, even against higher con mobs. In most instances, the spell's duration exceeds 10 minutes, seldom less than 15 minutes.</P> <P>And the Glyphskulls are nice, but the ghouls will outdo them easily. The best, most-reliable pet I've found in Sinking Sands has been the Unliving Augur. You can find him with Unliving Lookouts, Troopers, and Theurgists not far from the ghostly spectres of Anuk, near the Twin Tears. The Augurs Smite for 1700, melee for 250/hit, and heal themselves. They are prone to use an AE dot which totally messes up the group mez. With these guys, it's possible to take down ^^^ mobs and finish at better than 50% health and power (pet and Coercer). Despite all this, their magic/mental resist doesn't seem to be so high that Charm breaks too frequently.</P> <P> </P> <P>Gramma!</P> <P>50/60 Coercer/Provisioner</P> <p>Message Edited by Cytomel on <span class=date_text>11-12-2005</span> <span class=time_text>12:52 PM</span>

So you suggest augurs? I'l try.. I also desperetely looking for shaman type pet - those simply worst killers in game. Lol the ONLY casting NPC that can take out my warlock is shaman - I beated [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn] out of named mechant in MajDul for step 3 of carpet solo (mob can and will cast on you ice commet for 11K damage if you get in casting range) but named shamans in Sandcrawlers Cleft always give me hardest run for my money

<DIV>Oki here is a little more food for toughts</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Stability of charm:</DIV> <DIV>Rule of tomb - stability of charm depend less on quality on spell then on type of mob.... Yes you can charm with Adept 1 Dominate more relaible then with Master 1 if you use it vs. right type of mobs.</DIV> <DIV>First of all stability of charm vs. humanoids - very low. Not a single cast of Dominate 1 lasted on 5 min+ on any MajDul residents (most are even - high blue con, no arrows). Stability of charm do NOT depend on quality of mob - aka charmig +++ sand giant much more safer then charming 1 - (arrow down) MajDul resident</DIV> <DIV>So far:</DIV> <DIV>Best pets are undeads - charm stable, relaible, many pets are casters</DIV> <DIV>Animals - charm stable, good only for 1 purpose as suicide bombers - use animal and Magus+Spell Whip - in general bad choice</DIV> <DIV>Humanoids - charm very unstable</DIV> <DIV>Goblins - ?</DIV> <DIV>Orcs - ?</DIV> <DIV>Giants - charm somethat stable, relaible, pets are melee mostly, so-so pets - more like fluff pets I'd say lol walking Sand Giant on leech by SS docks kinda fun </DIV> <DIV>Harpies - ?</DIV> <DIV>Djins - ?</DIV> <DIV>Gnolls - ?</DIV> <DIV>Lizardmens - ?</DIV>

<P>I agree about the undead. When soloing at 31 in nek I using the enraged gulthex mystics even still. A blue con owlbear cant compare although he does nearly die vs green ^ owlbear unless I half tank the mob. Still works great vs blue V and less tho.</P> <P>I also find that the charm usually breaks either in the first 2 minutes or the last 2 minutes but usually holds firm inbetween. just fyi, others results may be different from mine.</P>

Shaman pets are amazing...specifically the goblin ones in pof. They're pretty self sustaining and they will put out similar damage to you. <div></div>
