Are we worse off?

What do you think?  They fixed a lot of spells, improved charm a great deal, but broke root our other keystone spell. <div></div>

<P>I honestly hate the changes to root and mez.  I am not big on charming and would rather root/nuke mobs.  Now my root is basically worthless, I might as well just not even cast it since it breaks quicker than I can say "boo".  I'm not even going to discuss dreadful awe and how it blows big time now with it's wimpy duration.</P> <P> </P> <P>I quit EQ 2 back in March and went to WoW for 7 months.  After today's patch WoW is looking better and better.</P> <P> </P> <P> </P>

<P>This is a major nerf. They gutted several of our key abilities, and all we got was an alleged improvement in a spell that's only useful when soloing. And why should we believe that they improved it?</P> <P>Actually, their standard "bait and switch" is to nerf a couple of our abilities, throw us something new, and then take the new thing away a couple patches later. So I fully expect charm to be nerfed in the future.</P>

Logged in, killed a few greens, thought, hey wow, maybe ..just maybe..went on to blues..got handed my butt. I almost deleted my coercer and made an illusionist just from the lousy dps rate and solo ability ( i love to solo and at least an illusionist gets a crappy persona), but then it occured to me..my dirge can do all this AND live.<span>:smileysad:</span>. I keep hoping someday..I wont feel I have a worthless toon hogging up my character list. <div></div>

<div></div>I did solo a level 42 without using charm (I am level 39), I did get hit more than usual, down in the yellow in health, then I tried using charm on a level 42, didn't get hit at all.
