<DIV>I have to say that I am sick and tired of trying to solo in Splitpaw and having to go find a mender soon after. I am a relatively new Coercer (just hit 27th level) but I feel that I can play this character fairly well. I cannot solo that dungeon, period. Can any coercers that have successfully soloed that dungeon at or near my level please give me some insight on how to do so? What tactics do you use? Do you use AE mez? Whenever I try to AE Mez that initial group at the second room where they are all standing around the pillars, I miss some because I cannot see them, or if I try to pull them away to AE mez them, I end up getting stifled/stunned/mezzed or rooted so I can't do the whole /yell thing. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>HELP!</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

<DIV>If you're stunned or stifled, you can still mez. If you find yourself stunned or stifled, start mezing.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>If you're rooted, you can cancel it on yourself ("Cure Arcane", I think) unless you're stunned or stifled.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Clustering is a problem that we have to learn to live with. Or, rather, lack of clustering. Groups of mobs that are spread apart and thus cannot all be AE mez'd at once means we get to be creative. In the big room, the first set of mobs are two on one side of the room and three (including a pet, I believe) on the other, and no AE mez could possibly hit both groups at the same time, and if you mez one, the others come at you somewhat, but since there are casters, some of them just cast, so pulling them to then AE mez doesn't work well, either.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>One suggestion: <EM>Start</EM> casting AE mez on the group with more mobs, then spin and target one of the mobs from the other group and queue up a single target mez. The target at the moment the spell casting begins is the target when the spell completes, but nothing is stopping you from choosing a new target for another spell before the current spell completes its cast. Be ready to recast the single target mez, however, as he might be out of range until he gets closer, but mash it until you get him. Then use your other mez on the other mob that arrived (lucky you, you still have two usable mez lines... right?), then turn your attention back to the other group. Use your two mez's to mez the pet and the one that isn't the agitator (I think that's the pet user), and then take out the agitator (stun him and/or stifle him, apply one or two DoT's, and then two HO's, and he should be down...) Interleave re-mezing while you do this, if needed -- keep an eye on the mez icons in your sustained spell bar. Taking out the agitator will also take out his pet, so you'll only have three to deal with at that point, which shouldn't be too hard.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>If the agitator gets a couple lucky shots in (if he's stifled, he won't), you should be able to break easily and run. Those guys do not pursue aggressively, and most will still be mez'd, so you should be able to make it.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>That said, level 27 is a hell level of sorts, because level 28 is where we get our new DD and DoT. You might want to wait until level 28 before trying it again. Also, be sure to upgrade those spells to Adept1 or better right away. The difference between App1/App2 and Ad1 on those spells is <EM>startling</EM>, and, at least on my server, coercer spell upgrades are pretty cheap.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Good luck!</DIV> <DIV><SPAN class=time_text></SPAN> </DIV><p>Message Edited by Chatham on <span class=date_text>06-24-2005</span> <span class=time_text>11:36 AM</span>
Not all roots are of the Arcane time. Some are elemental, noxious, or trauma based.

That's good to know. I did't realize that. The few times I've tried to strip a root, it's fallen away for me. <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>
