<DIV>Had a similar thought on the spells forum, but just had to say something here aswell.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Very very few people play our class.. Why? Could be a million reasons, but it comes down to it just isn't very appealing.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>So SOE takes a very unappealing class and reducesses our effectiveness in many areas. What now? Even less people will play the class.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>If sony thinks power regen is too much, beguile is too much, etc., etc., then sure adjust it, but give us something else to make the class appealing.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>What could they give us? I don't know. For me, beguile was our class defining spell, I chose Coercer because I wanted to charm things. It's funny that as charm was working pre patch people were happy that it was finally working, but asking for some changes to upgrade its usefullness some - instead it has been squashed.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I don't think its productive anymore to fight within the Enchanter class, but if you look at the two subclasses coercers are in a sorry state. Everyone agreed that both Illusionists and Coercers needed some loving from the dev's to balance us with the more popular classes, and instead we get hit, hard. Wish I understood the rationale.</DIV>
<DIV>I think there are three reasons why few people play coercers:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>1) Enchanters are not the necessity they were in EQ1, so fewer people overall pick the class</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>2) On most servers, Qeynos is far more popular than Freeport. The light-side part of the sub-30 game is far more complete, with more quests, better rewards, etc. The Freeport-only classes therefore suffer.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>3) Coercers' signature spell is thought to be Charm. Charms aren't very impressive. This should change.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>These were the reasons I chose Illusionist instead of Coercer, anyway.</DIV>

It didnt work then. So I tried different classes. Then I realized that no class has a "defining" ability. At least not like other games. Its the sum of all the parts that defines the class. And Coercers parts have never added up to what they were intended to. </FONT></DIV> <DIV></FONT> </DIV> <DIV>There werent enough enchanters in beta, and there arent enough on test OR live right now. There really isnt alot of intelligent feedback given to the devs, and posts like yours dont really serve any purpose other than making it harder to get what little bit of information IS being given. I mean, if you have read blackguards recent posts, you would see they really dont have much of a clue when it comes to the enchanter classes. </FONT></DIV> <DIV></FONT> </DIV> <DIV>Come up with solutions. Use /feedback and /bug. Make things better for us all, not worse. </FONT></DIV>

<DIV>I know Tan. And in the end I thinks its a good thing, even if I dont necessarily agree with your methods. We can see that it at least sparked some mod interest which obviously wasnt understood ( by them). </DIV>

I don't much like the methods either, but we did 'coerce' a response out of them, eh?

<DIV>Personally I think every DEV should read <A href="http://eqiiforums.station.sony.com/eq2/board/message?board.id=27&message.id=2109" target=_blank>http://eqiiforums.station.sony.com/eq2/board/message?board.id=27&message.id=2109</A> with an open mind. Thankyou Knightmair and RamiorS. It points out that even out okay spells have some practical usage problems. I am tempted to PM it to every dev name I can find :;.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> <DIV>It is rather slanted to the top end coercer and I would like to see a similar list for say a mid 30s coercer. Anyone want to volunteer?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV></DIV> <DIV>I would also like who ever in SOE is responsible for class balance confirm that as a class we should be the third best damage dealers in the game and the best of the mages at group utility (CC/buff/debuff). I would also like them to confirm that we do not need to use our single HOs within a group to achieve this (not that using it I ever do that much damage).</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Aside:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> <DIV>I don't know if it will make people feel better or worse BUT.... we are not the rarest subclass. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Brigand is rarest followed fairly closely by bruiser. Coercer is roughly 5th rarest. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>One more little titbit. On at least one server there are more coercers than illusionists.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Brothers and sisters we can form a formidable band to push our concerns.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV></DIV>
