<DIV>Reading it I figured it was a group mez. It seems to me that if the target is attacked it breaks the entire spell. So is this just to crowd control adds? Or am I missing the point of this spell all together.</DIV>

<DIV>You're right, it's just to control adds.  It's a very situational spell, and can't be used for traditional crowd control as people know it (as it'll break once one creature is attacked), but in a well-oiled group, if you're attacked by a large group (still a single encounter) of enemies, the AE mez can buy time to finish the current encounter off and be ready to AE the new one.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Like I said, it's very situational, but it can serve its purpose on occasion.  It's just nowhere near as good as the AE Mesmerization spell in EQ1.</DIV>

<DIV>It's junk like most of our spells.  Sorry to break the news.</DIV>

<DIV>I have only really used it once effectively and that was last week,  grp was fairly stuffed after a couple long battles (low power and low health) and got spawned on by 5 or 6 mobs (cant remeber exactly).  Anyway gave us time to assess situation then decided to Evac.  I have only started using it since the increased aggro and i'd like to say it's useful but I can't.  </DIV>

<DIV>I have never scribed the spell.  Others however have used this spell for group adds.</DIV><p>Message Edited by Azmodeus on <span class=date_text>03-10-2005</span> <span class=time_text>03:23 AM</span>

<DIV>It's a 20 sec mez for anentire encounter group.  The drawback is that the entire group is un-mezzed if the spell is broken.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>So the only use for it is to lock down an incoming add group, and then single-target mez each.  Just make sure that your tank doesn't attack one until the single mezzes are up, or you get piled on.</DIV>

<DIV>I've been able to successfully use this spell like 3 times since launch. All the other dozens of times, it didn't help the situation at all. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>The 3 times it worked, was because everyone was assisting the MT. The MT wasn't targetting the group of adds (thus no one accidently "assiting" in breaking the mez), and all the mobs failed to resist the effect.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I'd also like to add that if you cast it and the 3 above situational criteria are not met, your 99% sure to die :smileytongue: (there's been a couple times were i didn't die, but I was lucky, heh)</DIV>

<DIV>I don t totally agree. I use this spell a ton of time in duo mode with my friend inquisitor when fighting large groups.</DIV> <DIV>Typically I use it </DIV> <DIV>1) when a surprise encounter happen (4, 5 or 6 blue  ,white or yellow with or without+ for us). The inquisitor get all the first hits ( I am always in invisble mode) and it s health go down dramatically during the first second. I have no time to mez it all one by one so I mez the group let him heal to its maximum and we can swept the group easlily </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>2) when normal fighting groups of 6 yellow or 5 yellow + 1 orange (all normals or + or ++ ) as a great part of our fighting duo tactics.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Actually I am wondering if it s not better to use terrible awe than blink to save my [expletive ninja'd by Faarbot] when suprise encounter occur and all are heading to me. I will try to combine this two to see if it s not a good combo. Terrible awe, let the inquisitor heal me, break mez and then blink. All that of course to reach the perfect duo Inquistor-Coercer tactic <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV> <DIV>Please remember that these informations works for my duo. I rarely solo and rarely play in group. So i can t say for these configuration.</DIV>

It's basicly useless 99% of the time. I've used it successfully maybe 2 or 3 times at most. Sorry I'm just used to REAL aoe mezes in other games (OMG! I played something besides EQ1 !!!) It's a joke, duration is way too short for what it's designed for and having all mobs break when only one is hit just don't make sense.

The only use I've found for this spell is when I need to run away <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> I AOE mez, then start dropping regular mezzes on the mobs so that when it wears off and I can run again, I've got some time. It's saved my bacon a few times, but when I get adds, I find it's alot more effective to just use my regular mez spells than worry about the aoe. It needs to be fixed so that one hit doesn't break mez for all mobs in the encounter. Then it'll be somewhat useful, but until then, it's very situational and worthless to upgrade.

<DIV>Thats funny thats not how the spell works at all...</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>When you use your regular mez on grouped mez mobs both mezzes break when the group mez mob wears off.</DIV>

<DIV>This spell can indeed be very usefull.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>First it has a very fast casting time, so if you somewhat loose control on a ^^ mobs (resists or whatever), it can be a life savior if our only mezz is not avaible (as it stands now, stun is somewhat useless). Just AoE mezz the single encounter mobs and then  efresh it with enthrall. The "funny" things here is that our spells sucks so much that we have to found alternative ways to achieve what we are made for...CC. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Another situation where it can help is on adds with 2 mobs ^, Aoe Mezz both, then single mezz them just after.</DIV>

<DIV>I haven't seen this work, it the tank breaks the group mez before its over and you have single mezzes on each of the mobs all of the mezzes break.  At least this is what I believe I've seen.</DIV>
