<DIV>Tan has it right... keep yer target stifled and tank away (make sure you have good amror and agi too) and you shuold be fine with some good food and drink for wompin solo mobs</DIV>

I assume this can't be done until the upgrade to overwhelming silence at 30 (withering silence)? I tried the other day with overwhelming silence and there was no way I was going to be able to finish off the mob (at level 29)

<DIV>Yeah the upgrade helps allot. You can stifle, cast 3 other spells, and stifle again which shuold keep the mob held to diminished damage.</DIV>

<DIV>While WS dont completely stifle target it prevent target from using low lvl attack skills that actually cause more annoiance</DIV> <DIV>WS block barrage, crushing blow and wild swing - most common NPC special moves</DIV>

<DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I have to say i agree, I have spent most of my time in Rv solo for level 38-39 and have stayed at pretty much the same place before our root got nerfed and after. Now I find it hard going to solo.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I used to be the coercer who root / nuked and dotted, after the root nerf i died alot</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I have tried the stifle tank, dot and nuke method (my gear is pretty good) and i died alot</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I have now adopted the mez, HOS root nuke, mez HOS root nuke approach but although I can xp safley I can say I have seen pretty much most classes pass by my camp spot and outkill me. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Bar healer classes I am seriously starting to think we are the lowest solo dps classes in eq2, every other class I have seen is able to kill alot faster than us or for alot less mana. While I apperciate we are a utility class in groups we should still be able to solo as effectivley as other classes. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>We are not a plate class, nor do we use agility to avoid blows very well. We are a mage class and our spells are there to help us avoid damage and for me that means root. Root and nuke, with a stifle thrown in just incase a mob breaks root. To me we are  not a class that is supposed to go toe to toe with mobs.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Maybe its just me but unless they fix the root and fix the charm for coercers I am rapidly losing my ability to have fun playing the class and will look elsewhere.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>(and yes  i will stick my toosh out so the door hits it on my way out <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

<DIV>Soloing is terribly boring.  Grouping is so much more fun than solo, and you get greater rewards.</DIV>
